-Chandler-
I continued sobbing as I heard the door creak open. I pushed Darcie's hair out of her face, my shaking blood coated hands moving up to her chin allowing my thumb to make an attempt at wiping the excessive amounts of blood from her lips. She wasn't breathing, but the warmth of her skin gave me a small amount of hope.
"Okay, Chandler-"
"Mr Riggs, Carrie."
"Ah, right. Sorry. Uhm. Mr Riggs, we've got your results back. You'll be glad to hear-"
"Can I go and see my girlfriend?" I cut in blankly, not caring about my 'results'.
The young trainee nurse looked at me and blinked a few times before turning to her head doctor. "Uh..." she stuttered, clearly nervous. I continued to make her job difficult- I wasn't in the mood.
She adjusted her clipboard. "I...uh...we got the bullet fragments out. Luckily it only punctured your muscle, so there's just gonna be an ache for a few weeks, I-"
I sat up fully in the hospital bed. "Can. I see. my. girlfriend?"
"You killed her." I spoke quietly as I heard footsteps reach me after the door closed. They remained silent. "Kill me." I continued, watching one of my tears fall onto Darcie's cheek. "Just fucking kill me." I seethed, burying my head in her neck and continuing to sob. Eventually, I felt a hand on my shoulder, and heard a soft voice; "Chandler...we've gotta get you both out of here."
The doctor sighed and took the clipboard off of 'Carrie'. "Mr Riggs, allow me and my intern to give you all of the information you need, then and only then can I give you permission to leave the room."
I sighed, resting my head back on the headboard, my eyes were closed.
"Now, as Carrie said, we-"
The doctor stopped and turned around as my room's door opened slowly. I gave a small smile to Natalie as she walked in, holding a coffee cup. The doctor stepped aside, allowing her to the seat beside my bed.
"We'd like to keep you in, at least overnight to make sure of any other mishaps, but we'll get you some crutches and you can be on your way." He finished, giving Natalie and I a weak smile. My jaw remained clenched, and my head was turned to the side.
"Thank you." Natalie said, allowing the doctor to open the door.
"Your girlfriend..." 'Carrie' turned to me before leaving, pressing the end of her pen on her bottom lip. I looked up at her, as if she was going to give me information.
"She's the...pretty one. Auburn. In a coma, right?"
I frowned at her, my stomach churning as I remembered Darcie's current position.
"I think you should go." Natalie said softly, placing a hand on my shoulder.
The nurse looked back at me, biting her lip nervously, before nodding."She's in room 32- down the hall." She smiled a little before leaving, closing the door behind her.
"So you're doing good then?" Natalie said, crossing one leg over the other. She leaned over the side of the chair, reaching inside her purse. She brought out a box, and placed it on my lap.
