This may be a tad confusing at first, but you'll understand if you read on :)

-Chandler-

"I can't." I said down the phone, frustrated.

"Dude, you've done it so many times. You've got to do it again, once more."

"I can't fucking kill her, Nathan." I spat, trying not to raise my voice too much. I looked up through the window from the conservatory where I was into the kitchen where Darcie was sat eating a bowl of cereal.

We made eye contact and she quickly looked back at the bowl.

"Chan, all I'm saying is your count this month is low." Nathan sighed down the phone. "You need at least two more, or Saffron's gonna drop you." I closed my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"I can get two. Just not her." I replied, facing the back yard.

"It would make your job so much easier, you know."

I sighed.

"Oh my God. Does Chandler have a crush?" He mocked.

"No, Chandler doesn't. Go to hell, Nathan." I groaned as he chuckled to himself. "Besides, she's done nothing wrong. You know we don't hurt innocent people."

"I'm already heading to hell anyways." He replied. "Look, I'll tell Saff to wait a little longer. But if I were you, I'd hop to it. Keep your log updated...and I'll see you later."

"Bye, asshole." I replied, hanging up.

I let out another sigh, opening the conservatory door and walking back into the kitchen, as Darcie was taking her empty bowl to the sink.

"Who was that?" She asked quietly. "You look...stressed."

I grabbed the toast from the toaster which had finished cooking whilst I was on the phone, and took a bite out of it as I pushed myself up onto a counter.

"It's not something you need to worry about." I replied, swallowing the toast.

She turned back to the sink, rinsing the soap out of the bowl and leaving it to dry in the side. "Sorry." She replied.

Still not talking to her? Leave me alone, Max. It was just a kiss. A fucking awkward one at that. She was upset. That other bitch needed shutting up. It happened. It's gone. Bullshit. Shut up. Not until you confess you did it for a reason. That is my fucking reason. She didn't like it anyway. Don't be too sure about that-

"She didn't like the fucking kiss." I shouted out loud. Darcie looked at me, her grey eyes looking directly into mine voluntarily, for the first time.

I shut my eyes in humiliation and tilted my head down.

It was silent.

She cleared her throat, walking around to the other side of the counter island. "Can I...have a shower?"

I looked at her and nodded. "There's...um...towels in the bathroom, and I put more clothes in the drawers in your room."

She nodded. Before leaving, she turned around, running her fingers over the bandages wrapped around her wrists. "Where...do you get the clothes from?"
