Brothers Forever

Chapter 8

The day of the battle continued to inch it's way closer....both sides have worked their butts off training for this fight, but nothing could prepare them for the hell that awaits them.

No matter how much they train nothing will be enough to equal what this battle will bring....many lives will be lost....gallons of blood will be spilt both good and evil. Both sides are risking everything they have and all risks come with a price....the real question is which side will lose the most.

Leo and Sky were currently in the main room of the lair talking about the fight that is around the corner....of course the younger turtles listened in but they probably wish that they hadn't, for what the two eldest said was just horrible.

Sky sighed "Leo I know you don't want to think about it but no matter how much we train there is always the possibility that one of us will die."

Leo growled at his female companion "I know that! But I'm willing to give up my life to protect my brothers and you!"

The female dragon hugged the blue clad turtle "Leo I know that and I feel the same way....but I'm just saying it's possible," the two eldest stood hugging each other for what seemed like forever before they pulled away from one another.

The three younger turtles choose to make their presence known and walked over to their brother and sky...their expressions were serious...even Mikey! GOOD GOD WHATS THE WORLD COME TO!

Leo and sky looked to the younger mutants and sighed having known they were listening in, before any of the younger turtles could react Leo and sky pulled them into a tight hug not daring to let go.

Raph sweat dropped "Are you two alright?"

Donnie was next to question the sanity of the two eldest "You didn't knock a screw loose did you?"

Mikey being the youngest and most naive one of the five mutants soon blurted out "They have loose screws I'll get the screw driver! Raph! Donnie! hold them still!"

Leo and sky widened their eyes before pushing the three younger turtles away, the eldest male spoke first "Guys I know you heard us but I want to let you all know I'm not going to let anything happen to any of you."

Sky nodded and soon spoke up "Leo's right as long as we are standing nothing is going to happen to you....I may have not been born into this clan but you all treat me like family and for that I swear on my life that I'll protect the Homato Clan until I give my last breath."

With those final words the five mutants hugged again this time they each participated not wanting the moment to last, this moment may very well be their last all together and alive....they didn't want to think about life without each other having grown very close, especially Leo and sky.

After what seemed like eternity standing there in a tight hug the five mutants pulled apart smiling one last time before they took their different paths. Of course Donnie went to his lab, Raph and Mikey had a video game battle and shockingly the two eldest went to sky's room to discuss the battle.

In sky's room (no POV):

Sky sat on her bed hugging a pillow to her chest while Leo had his arm around her shoulder holding her close. His voice was soft "Don't worry sky I'm sure we'll all be alright....we will all emerge from this battle together...you have my word."

Sky didn't say anything she just pressed her pillow closer to her chest as she listened to Leo's heartbeat....she matched her breathing to the rhythm of his heartbeat, just the sound of it made her worries disappear....just knowing that his heart still pumped blood was enough for her.

She knew how corny that sounded but she didn't care...she had lost her whole family and has watched innocent people be slaughtered for no given reason, and when Leo came into her life it seemed to have flipped a switch.

All her life she had been wandering through the darkness but when Leo came the lights turned on illuminating the world around her....and that's why she loved him. He was the light in the darkness, he always put other's needs before his own and that was both a good and bad thing.

Sky fell in love with him because he was kind hearted, he helped her even though he didn't even know her....and she knew he had the same feelings for her she could see it in his sapphire eyes.

The two eldest sat in silence for most of the night just listening to each other breathing, Leo and sky had soon laid down on the soft mattress as the male turtle still held sky close to him. The female dragon had used her tail to pull the blankets over them covering them in warmth.

Quickly both the mutants were fast asleep having let their exhaustion take over sleeping peacefully, a few hours past before the three younger turtles decided to call it a night once they realized Leo and sky were still in sky's room they became curious.

Stealthily they opened the door to sky's room and gasped silently at the sight, their the two eldest lay cuddled together small smiles across their faces as they slept....it was a cute sight as Leo held sky close with his arms and sky held the male turtle close with her tail.

Silently the younger turtles left the room closing the door quietly before heading to their own rooms...once there they each got into their own beds and just as their heads hit the pillow they were out like a light.

Silence settled over the Homato clan's lair as the five mutants slept peacefully the thoughts of the battle were out the window as only nice thoughts of the future filled their dreams.

Mikey of course dreamed of a land filled with pizza and other kinds of food while he skipped through a meadow of candy roses and gummy daisies.

Raph dreamed of beating up people like the foot...purple dragons and Diablos, a smirk played across his lips as he easily took them down.

Donnie was in his best dream yet...it was Geektopia, computers and other technology related equipment was everywhere as the room defied physics itself...gravity was something that do not exist in this world....another thing that didn't exist here was bad internet connection...this was truly every geeks dream. 

Leo and sky somewhat shared a dream ok not actually but they were kinda of related....it was that the two of them grew up and had a family of their own, they were happy which is something they haven't truly experienced in a very long time.

The night soon turned into day as the sun made its way into the sky....today was the day....the day that everything could go good or it could all go to hell.

Today was the day that the biggest battle would take place.

Today was the day that countless lives will be lost.

Today was the day good and evil clashed.

Today was the day that the....

War began.
