"So Ben what are we doing today?"

"Called me Kylo Ren please, we are alone so it's fine. Ben's not my  name. Just the one I use so we don't get caught."

"Aw but I like Ben better!'

"Please don't Rey."

"Fine —" Rey smiled. "Ben."

"Ugh — you know what? Whatever. Let's just get started on the plan for today."

"And what's that?'

"Making you look irresistible! Now what's Poe's type?"

"What do you mean?'

"Like what kind if people does he pay attention to."

"Oh, well he —" Rey's face turned red. "Never mind"

"What?"

Rey sighed. "He tends to flirt with guys more than girls even though he's bi."

"So you think he's gay?"

"N-No! He's not gay! It's just that I want to stand out from the people he usually flirts with, so I could be — you know? Unique."

"Okay then, let's get started."

••{•}••

"So — he's throwing a party tonight?"

"Yeah and I want to look good! You better not mess this up!'

"I won't." Ren laughed. "I know what I'm doing."

"Good — but one question, why are you called Heartbreak Hotline? Isn't that a little discouraging for the name of a love radio show?"

"Uh well —" Ren sighed as he continued. "The whole thing is complicated, believe it or not I've been through a lot of heartbreak during my years."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Girls basically made a game of who could break little Ben Solos heart the most. It crushed me. After a while things stopped and I fell for this girl." Kylo smiled grimly. "She seemed perfect and everything I wanted, and the good thing?" He caught eyes with Rey in the mirror.

"She liked me back. It seemed like a dream to me but then my heart ended up getting broken in the end." Kylo looked away.

Rey looked at him sadly, she was  going to ask what happened but he didn't seem to be completely over it.

"And after all this I decided to make a radio show and change my name to Kylo Ren. I named it Heartbreak Hotline so I could help others get through what I've been through or avoid it all together."

"That's nice." Rey mumbled.

"Yeah I guess. After that last girl I swore off love and promised to help others with it instead of myself. To me love is pretty useless."

Rey looked down at her feet and sighed. "But Kylo, love isn't useless. It fills your heart with happiness and butterflies."

"It also fills it with guilt and sadness. Rey, I've had my heart broken so many times, I can't keep track. Love hates me, but the feelings mutual." Kylo continued as he braided Rey's hair.

"But —"

"Look kid, I'm perfectly fine helping people like you with love, not myself. It's just not my thing to get involved with someone." Kylo responded his voice low.

Rey was quiet.

"Done." He exclaimed as he spun Rey around.

She turned to look at herself in the mirror. Rey gasped at the sight. Her hair was intricately braided down her back. Strips of hair were curled and pulled out of the braid to frame her face.

"I love it!" She breathed, still in shock. "Thank you so much!"

"No problem." Kylo turned to look at her again. He genuinely smiled for a second before scowling once again.
