Chapter 5

"Heartbreak Hotline what is your problem?"

"Turn the mic off Kylo." Rey's sad voice rang in his ears.

He sighed before clicking off the 'on air' button. "Yes?"

"My heart is broken."

"I know that Kenobi."

"You're not going to say anything else?"

"What else do I need to say?"

"You know? Words like 'there's more fish in the sea'?

"That never works."

"What do you mean?"

"I've had my heart broken too many times to know." Kylo shrugged. "It gives you false hope and just doesn't work."

"O-okay, then what do I do? What helps with a broken heart?"

"Time."

"That's too vague."

"But it's true. Only time call heal a broken heart. Just try to keep your mind of Poe, find something else to focus on."

"Okay thank you Kylo."

"No problem."

Kylo ended the call before smiling to himself.

The next morning Kylo spotted Rey. There wasn't her usual smile on her face and her shoulders were slumped.

"Are you okay?"

"Uh me? Yeah." Rey answered her voice fast.

"You don't look or sound okay Kenobi."

"But I am." Rey crossed her arms. "Just leave me alone, I am fine."

"Whatever you say." Kylo murmured as he pulled out his notebook.

Soon the lesson started and Kylo couldn't keep his eyes off Rey. No it wasn't in a romantic way but more in a 'concerned friend' way. He noticed the way her head was down and how her back was slouched in utter defeat.

She was not okay.

"Rey are you okay?"

"For the millionth time Kylo! Yes I'm okay! I'm fine! Perfectly fine!" Rey stormed off a few feet away from him. He caught up.

"No you're not!"

"I don't know why you keep asking Ren! It's none of your business."

"But you're my friend and I'm worried." Kylo ran the word 'friend' in his head over and over again. He hadn't used in a while. The people he often associated himself with were considered "acquaintances" nothing more nothing less.

"Well if you must know." Rey spin around to face him. "I'm being labeled a suck up. Happy?"

Before he could answer she ran off.
