Over the course of the next few days Kylo often found himself wandering back to the words he told the girl. Maybe he should start listening to his own advice. It would do him some good. Wouldn't it? He already knew the answer.
He walked in the next morning to a laughing Rey and Hux. Her smile wide and radiant. Sometimes he wished he had to the ability to make her do that.
Snap out of it Kylo!
He shook his head slightly and sat down in the far back. His fingers drummed against the worn desktop.
His eyes often wandered to glance at Rey and Hux. Their laughs and whispers etched into his mind. Kylo wanted to scream, but even if he screamed until there was no voice left for him to use it wouldn't matter. As if screaming out in frustration could change someone's feelings. It couldn't and that's what made it so frustrating.
Kylo let his hair brush over his eyes blocking them from the world. For the rest of the class he let his thoughts wander off, letting them drown him out from the rest of the world. For a couple of moments Rey and Hux didn't matter, nothing did. Her warm smile and kind voice had vanished from his mind, where they usually sat, haunting his daydreams.
"Will Ben Solo please report to the main office please!"
The booming voice coming from the loudspeaker snapped him out of his thoughts. Rey glanced at him with confusion in her eyes as he got up and shuffled out the door.
He didn't meet her eyes.
"Ben is it you?"
Kylo's stomach churned at the sound of his name.
"It's me, Katherine."
"Katherine?" His voice was low, he'd never expected to see her again.
"Yeah." She smiled at him. Her bright green eyes shone, those were the eyes he used to get lost in. But right now they'd lost their sparkle.
