"You need to push!" My sister's voice shouted at me. Sweat trickled down my forehead and I was in the most pain I've ever been in.

"I! Am! Trying!" I screamed. My nails cut into Alec's hand and I heard him distantly whimper. Tears streamed down my face and then I heard words I didn't want to hear.

"She can't push the baby out. We need to get her to an OR room stat. Page Dr. Robins!" A woman yelled. I stopped pushing and Alec's hand left mine as he tried to figure out what was going on. "Sir I need you to step back. We are going to try to save your wife an child but all you can do for now is stay calm and wait. Ma'am you have something that is blocking the baby from being able to be born regularly and if you were to keep pushing you and your baby would die. We're taking you to the OR room to do a C-section. It's your best hope. We have our best peds doctor working to make sure you little boy is okay. Please do not worry and try to keep relaxed. It will help the baby stay stable." I nodded and laid down on the bed as I wheeled away. What if I died? That question haunted me the whole way there.

3rd Person POV.

"She's losing to much blood," the general surgeon stated. "This isn't right."

"Bailey we need to work faster," Dr. Robbins rushed. "The baby is dying."

"We need more blood!" Bailey shouted. "O neg!"

"Bailey!" Robbins shouted. Bailey cut into the stomach farther careful not to cut the baby. Robbin's acted quickly and got the baby boy out. "We need to get him breathing again!"

"Okay I need to find the source of the bleeding," Bailey mumbled to herself.

Alec paced the floor waiting and waiting while Paul prayed silently. Everyone who could be there was there. Chloe couldn't stop crying. Everyone was worried. Bella was probably the most worried as she held her son close. If the baby survived and her sister didn't she knew Alec would resent himself and the child, but if she made it and the baby didn't she would never forgive herself. If they both lived then there truly was a god up there's somewhere. It wasn't her time. Then they heard the padding feet of someone coming their way. Bella was up and over to the doctor before anyone else. "The baby is stable for now," the doctor said. "She's going to need to be watched over carefully for a full 24 hours."

"What's about Katerina?" Alec asked.

"She's still in surgery," the doctor said. Everyone could see the frustration in Alec's eyes. He ran his hands through his hair and walked away before punching a wall. Not the best idea. "I'm sorry."

"She's not doing good," Bella whispered. She knew. It was a twin thing.

"I'm sorry," the doctor said again before walking away. And for the first time that day Bella let herself break.

"BP?" Bailey asked quickly as she found the bleeder.

"189/60," a doctor stated.

"She's going to die," an intern whispered just loud enough for Bailey to hear.

"No she's not!" Bailey shouted. "Hold in there. You can live."

"She can't hear you," the intern stated.

"Get out of my OR!" Bailey screamed. "Push through! You can do it!"

Katerina's POV.

I was dying. I know I am. My only thought is that I'll never get to see my baby boy. I wonder if Alec will name him what I wanted him to be named. Will he love him like I do?

Alec's POV.

She was recovering. At least that's what they said. I was allowed to take him home now. I know she'd want me to but I can't. Not until she wakes up. Bella has been taking care of him because I can't. I can't look at it. Her eye lids moved and I was by her bed as soon as I saw it. "Baby? Kat?" I asked. She opened her eyes and smiled slightly.

"Nicklaus?" She asked and I nodded. I got up quickly and ran over to Bella. I scooped my son out of her arms and carefully yet quickly walked back to the room. A smile spread wide across my face. I handed the baby to Kat and she smiled so widely. "Oh. Our baby boy. Take care of him will you?"

     "What?" I asked dumbfounded.

"Nicklaus Conner? Yeah? I like that. Klaus for short. Make sure he knows about me yeah? Tell him I was brilliant and that I caught a killer with his daddy. Take care of our baby. He's such a precious baby. My baby," she whispered. Her blonde hair flowed down her sides and she was the prettiest angel ever. But her face was now stained with tears. "I don't want to die. Alec I don't want to die."

"You're not going to," I promised. "You're not going to die." She cried as she kissed Klaus. His eyes opened and they looked so much like her blue eyes. He smiled and held onto her finger. She laughed softly and kissed his head.

"Mommy loves you baby. Mommy loves you," she said. "So pretty. Alec take pictures. He needs to see I love him."

"Okay give me a second," I said as I grabbed my camera and took pictures.  "Baby you know you're not going to die right?" But when I looked up she looked sicker than before. I took Klaus from her as he started to cry. Why her? Why of all the people in the world? Why her? She's so innocent. So beautiful. Nurses ran in and helped her but she was crying harder now. Bella and Paul ran in and tears spilled down their faces now. They would be losing a sister but my son would be losing a mother.
