Harry Potter trivia: Has anyone noticed a similarity between Harry and his dad? They both married women with ginger hair and have a best friend with curly hair.

Ginny

Curled up next to Harry, Ginny was just drifting off to sleep. Warm and comfortable, perfectly happy and the argument from that morning forgotten.

A high pitched cry came from the room opposite to theirs.

Harry sat up and was jamming his glasses onto his nose when Ginny took pity on him and said, "it's OK, I'll take this one."

Harry looked at her with a concerned expression, "are you sure?" He asked.

"I'll take this one," Ginny repeated, swinging her feet out of bed and walking across the cold wooden floor, out into the dimly lit landing and along to James's room. But someone was already in there.

"Hermione?" Whispered Ginny, "what are you doing here?"

Hermione jumped and whipped around, "comforting James," she whispered back, "I heard him crying so I came through."

Ginny felt her heart melt in affection for her best friend, Hermione had done so much to help since James had arrived.

"Thank you, Hermione," Ginny hugged the older girl, "you've been such a good help to me."

"You would do the same," Hermione said warmly.

Ginny picked up James and cradled him in her arms, he still did not calm down. Ginny sighed, "we might have to go downstairs," she told Hermione. "you can go back to bed."

"Wait," Hermione said, "sing to him, you never sing to him."

Ginny exhaled deeply, the truth was that she hated to sing, ever since Fred had died she stopped singing the little song Fred had sung to her. She didn't do anything that reminded her of him, except see George who was visiting the next day.

Hermione tilted her head to one side, "it's because of Fred, isn't it?" She went on without waiting for a reply, "but you can't just not sing because he's gone."

Hermione was right, Ginny sighed, Hermione was always right.

"OK," Ginny said finally, "deep in the meadow, /under the willow./ A bed of grass,/ a soft green pillow./ Lay down your head/ and close your eyes./ And when they open,/ the sun will rise./ Here it's safe,/ here it's warm/ and here the daisies/ guard you from every harm./ Here your dreams are sweet/ and tomorrow brings them true./ Here is the place where I love you." Ginny had to stop because the tears were tightening her throat, she couldn't speak as she lowered the sleeping James into his cot. She gave Hermione a brave smile and the two departed the room.

Harry was sitting awake when Ginny came into the room, his piercing green eyes searched her face and he said, "what's wrong?"

Ginny hastily rearranged her features into what she hoped was a smile, "nothing, nothing at all."

"My darling," Harry said with a rueful smile, "I know something's wrong."

"It's just," Ginny mumbled, "I sang that lullaby for the first time in years and I thought about him." Her cheeks burned as she realised how stupid she sounded.

"Oh, love," Harry held out his arms, "come here."

Ginny did not hesitate to fall into his arms, he wrapped her up and held her tight. Harry stroked her hair and whispered, "it's OK to cry if you want to, don't hold it in."
