Ginny (continued)

The house had a melancholy air hanging around it when Harry was gone. The three adult inhabitants knew Ginny had been possessed, so Hermione was working ruthlessly to rid Ginny of the possessor. Ginny's mind was constantly thinking about Harry, stuck in Azkaban, even without the Dementors it was an awful place to be. It made her sad to think of her poor husband locked up in a dark, damp, cold cell, with no light except for a tiny grey slither of the stuff. She didn't even have James to distract her, as she, Hermione and Ron had agreed that if Ginny was possessed she shouldn't be looking after a child.

Ginny looked up at the knocking on her bedroom door, she gripped her wand tight.

"Come in!" She called.

The door opened and Hermione entered, holding a book and grinning from ear to ear.

"I've got it!" Hermione cried ecstatically, "we can get rid of this awful thing possessing you!"

"That's great!" Exclaimed Ginny, jumping to her feet. "How?"

"We're going to exorcise it,"

Hermione said, placing the book down in front of Ginny, who was sceptical all of a sudden.

"Really? An exorcism?" Ginny said with a sigh. "Isn't that what happens on muggle films?"

"Yes," the older girl rolled her eyes, "but it's based off an ancient ritual, they don't just make it up."

Ginny huffed a breath, "fine, give it a go."

Then, her voice and body was taken over by an unstoppable force, her whole frame ached and her insides felt like they were on fire. Her movements felt strange and wrong, snakelike and she spoke in a voice that wasn't hers.

"You can try, but I can kill you first."

Every inch of Ginny was screaming 'STOP!' But she was unable to, it was like the imperius curse but a thousand times worse. Against her will, Ginny raised her wand and pointed it at a defenceless Hermione, who tried to reason.

"Ginny," Hermione said slowly, "you have to fight it."

Alas, her body was taken over, she used a spell she had never even known about, making Hermione slide up the wall, blood spurting from her chest and tears rolling down her face.

"Ginny," Hermione whimpered, "don't let it kill me."

Something inside Ginny stirred; Hermione is about to be killed!

'Good, it's what you want!' Said the voice controlling her actions.

No, it's what you want!

'Finish her'

What if I don't want to?

'DO IT!'

NO!

"Ginny, please, don't let it get me," Hermione moaned, "please, please!"

At Hermione's shriek, Ron burst in the room, his wand trained on Ginny, he said, "I know the spell, let's finish this thing. Ginny, if you're in there, keep it still and we can-"

He was cut off as Ginny let out a terrible scream, the spirit inside her burst out from her mouth and shot up through the ceiling. It was gone.

Hermione crumpled to the floor along with Ginny.

"Hermione," Ginny whispered, "I'm so sorry, I tried to stop it, but I couldn't."

Hermione raised her head to look at Ginny, "I know, it's OK."
