"Oh, yeah, he's right here" Alex smiles, opening the door wider to let my mother in.

"Mum?" I smile and lean against the counter where we totally weren't just about to get each other off "What are you doing here?"

"Remember?" She frowns "We're going to Mexico. I told you this last week."

"Well, finals were last week, I don't remember much outside of how the electron transport system works."

She rolls her eyes. "I'm glad I came over early then. Our flight leaves at six."

I groan. "Can I not go?"

"What?" she gasps, appalled by my request. "You love Mexico"

"I know, but Alex would be here all alone and I'd feel bad."

"It's fine" Alex pipes in but we ignore him

"Oh yes, the London boy? Well why don't we take him along" she turns to look at him. "I might as well get to know Jack's new best friend."

Oh god no, I can't handle this many train wrecks at once. "He doesn't want to go" I say quickly, before anyone has a chance to say otherwise.

"Nonsense! Everyone wants to go to Mexico"

"Except illegal immigrants from Mexico"

"He's not someone Donald Trump would exclude!" My mum defends.

"Does anyone want to actually ask me?" Alex asks.

"No!" my mum and I both snap at the same time. It takes my mum and I a few seconds of looking at each other blankly before we both burst into a fit of laughter. Alex just looks upset and confused.

"He's coming, I can't leave him here alone in good conscience."My mum say matter of factly. "Now, get upstairs and pack. I'll be back in an hour." Then, just as quickly as she came, she left with Alex and I just starting at each other blankly.

"Thank god for tequila" was the only thing I could say to express how much I do not like this and do not want to watch this train wreck, if not at all then at least not sober.

"Look on the bright side," Alex smiles "we can sneak off and do stuff together."

"Yeah, that would've been a lot easier here" I roll my eyes. "My parents will already be keeping a close eye on me since what happened last year"

"What happened last year?"

"I don't really remember, due to all the tequila, but I apparently fucked a burrito and ran around naked." I shrug

"Great" Alex sighs.

You haven't seen annoying until you put a sex deprived Alex Gaskarth in a plane with free champagne and first class amenities. That kid (I know he's a year older than me, shut up) needs to calm down. I offered him my 'in flight entertainment' which is just a fancy name for one too many Ativans mixed with alcohol, but he turned it down. Leaving me, a drugged up boy, to deal with his antsy ass.

"Babe, look, I'm a dog" Alex tilts his phone screen my way to show him with the dog snapchat filter on.

"That's because you're my bitch" I whisper huskily into his ear before returning back to my own personal space.

He blushes and shifts awkwardly in his seat, presumably horny from the last comment "Are we almost there?" he whines impatiently

"We've been in the air for five minutes" I mumble, my brain a little mashed from the pills.

"I know but I'm bored" he whines.

I sigh and turn around to my sister, who is sitting behind us with her daughter and husband. "Can you give me some crayons and paper for the child."

May laughs and bends down to dig into her bag. "He reminds me of you when you were younger"

"Yeah, then I discovered drugs and stopped pissing everyone off" I say, taking three crayons and a couple sheets of paper from my sister then turning back to Alex. "Here" I set the things on his tray "try not to get into too much trouble with these"

He squeals happily and begins to doodle so I lean my head back and close my eyes.

I wake up when Alex shakes me awake to see his drawings. Through hazy eyes he showed me the pictures and told me a story about all of them that made me fall asleep again.

The next time I wake up is when the flight lands, this being the same time my pills wear off.  Usually that's the effect that people want, but it's going to be another hour of dealing with my mother before I can get my hands on some drugs again.

"We're in Mexico!" Alex smiles wildly.

I look at him sleepily and watch as he shoves some things into his carry on bag.  Fuck, this is going to be a disaster. It's like being in a car crash, the moment before impact where you know there's nothing you can do to stop it. Trust me, I know the feeling a little too well.
