I woke up to the sound of rain pattering on the roof, thunder occasionally breaking the hum of the raindrops hitting the windows. Rain always managed to soothe me, but today it felt different. I was physically drawn to the water doting the windows, sliding down to join another until wind blew them all away. Everything felt eerie and weird.
Something rustled next to me.
And then I remembered everything. Taehyung, the training lessons, my parents, something about food and...
Oh crap.
I was still in his house.
My eyes widened in realization, and I tried to get up and find him so he can explain why in the world he didn't wake me up when he said he would.
"Stop fidgeting." A deep, lazy voice murmured next to my ear. I froze.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING SLEEPING NEXT TO ME TAEHYUNG?!!" Holy crap, I was sleeping next to freaking Taehyung. In his house.
When had my life made this bizarre turn?
"It's my bed. I do have a right to sleep in my own bed the last time I checked," he said again, this time flinging his hand onto my belly. My toes instantly curled.
"Can't you find another bed in this big mansion of yours?" I squeaked, but he laughed in response, coming closer to me under the covers and burying his face close to my neck, his breath stirring my hair, "I get scared of thunderstorms. And you're warm so I came to sleep here instead. Now shush and go back to sleep."
My mind was spinning and going at a million different places at once. But one thing overpowered my thoughts.
His hand and his face.
"I need to pee!" I practically screamed, flinging him off me and jumping out of the bed. Need more space. Need more space. Need more space.
He laughed, but made no move to get up, so I quickly got out of the room and went to the nearest bathroom I could find, shutting the door firmly behind me.
My emotions were all over the place and I was a huge mess. The mirror confirmed that too as I looked up at my reflection – my hair was disheveled, my eyes were red and swollen, my cheeks were flushed. I didn't know how to feel about him when all he does is push me away one moment and say things that melt my heart right out of my chest the next. But I knew that under all that cold demeanor, he was a kind person.
I sighed, splashing my face with some water to clear my head. I pushed thoughts of Taehyung away from my head and got out. He wasn't in his room as I trekked back, so I decided to go downstairs and get some water.
"You hungry?" a voice suddenly said from behind me and I jumped in surprise. "Jeez, care to be a tad less scary," I said to him, rubbing my hands to get rid of the goose bumps. He stood behind me, eyes glinting amber from the dark light and the thunder lights. Half of his face was in shadows as he led me to the kitchen, and I resisted the urge to turn on all the lights in the mansion.
"Sit," he motioned, before he opened the fridge and took out labelled Tupperware containers of food on the counter. "Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked, "You were fast asleep and I didn't want to wake you." He paused, looking at me sideways from the fridge,
"You slept like the dead. I was scared and I even checked your breathing."
I flung a panda teddy bear at him. "I don't sleep like the dead. I was just tired from all the unnecessary physical torture you put me through." He smirked. "You even drooled on my favorite pillow."
