"Where were you guys?" Louise got up when she saw us walk in. I looked around at the small room. It had a few cobwebs, but I didn't see any moths, so I guess it was okay. Wood floors, bean bag chairs, and lots of old books.

"Bryce." I answered.

"Well, what happened? Lunch is almost over!"

"He smacked Peej's head against the wall, knocked him out for a bit. He was gonna get me too," I said and smiled as I said the next part. "Then Phil came and helped us."

"Ohhhh!!! Dan has a boyfriend!" She joked.

I looked her in the eye, dead serious.

"The sky is blue." She gasped, then hugged me.

"I better meet him before anything happens!" She laughed, as if she was my mother.

---------------------------------------

"Hi Dan!" Phil yelled, rushing down the hall to me. I couldn't help but laugh at him, his fringe waving in all sorts of directions, his smile unfaltering. The wrinkles beneath his eyes say that he laughs all the time. The sparkle in his eyes say that each laugh is a rare and treasured moment.

"Hey Phil." I said. I scratched the back of my head. Just because I liked the guy, doesn't mean I stopped being awkward.

And yes, just "like". I mean, I don't even know this guy's last name! We may be soulmates, but that doesn't mean I just immediately love him.

I mean, I love the way he is constantly tripping over his words, too excited to speak. I love the way he smiles, his ocean blue eyes sparkling. I love the way he realizes how shy he is, and looks down at his sneakers. I love his black fringe, always balancing a blue light on itself.

"Dan? Are you alright?" He asked, genuinely concerned. He waved a hand in my face. I smiled. Oops, forgot to speak.

"Yeah, yeah I am." I answered. It was true. I was so calm, as if everything in the world was perfect.

"So, like I said before, maybe I could have your.." He coughed and murmured something I couldn't hear. I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Could I..." He looked down, took a deep breath, then chuckled, smiling back up at me.

"Let's try this again. I broke my number....could I borrow yours?" He looked me straight in the eye, and I burst out laughing.

"You,"
"HAHAHHA!"
"wish!" I said in between laughing fits. His face fell.

"That was so cheesy!" I said whipping out a PEICE of paper and a pen.

"You wish it worked!" I handed him the paper.

"Thanks Dan!" He seemed overjoyed just to have ten digits on a paper.

"Maybe when your number gets fixed, you can text me?" I asked. Woah, no stuttering? Nice one! I congratulated myself mentally.

"I have a feeling that'll be the minute the bell rings." Phil said, smiling.

Alright. How was that? Was it pretty okay? I think it was okay. One of the shorter chapters, oops. Just a filler, though. The next chapter will just be them texting each other. It won't be too long, I think. I haven't decided. I also haven't decided if I am going to switch to Phil's point of view yet. I might within a few chapters, or I won't at all. Comment below what you think! Love you, my darlings.
