Everyone was born with one. They called them 'Soulmate Stones.' Every baby was born with them clenched in their fist and they were turned into necklaces after. There were three types of stones: red, blue, and green. Red and blue promised a soulmate for they had engravings. Your soulmate would have the same exact necklace as you. But if you had a green necklace there would be no engravings.
It was just a pure green stone with a single line going down the center. Green meant undetermined, in other words you didn't have a soulmate.
Ben Solo was born with a gleaming blue stone while Rey's was just pure emerald green.
