I began writing this vampire AU some time ago and have most of the prologue. I wanted to share what I have, tell me what you guys think.

Prologue

The salty water dripped from her hair slowly and ran down her bare back. The cooling sensation made her back shiver slightly. Her fingers slowly reached up to push the matted hair away from her face. It dripped down onto her fingers. A trail of blood stained footprints scattered from behind her. Her feet tried to move faster, making her teeth clench in pain and sand scatter across the back of her leg. She was scared but a sob refused to come from her mouth. Rey reached up to wipe at her dry, tearless eyes. The rough shells and grains of sand rubbed at her soles harshly, making her almost fall over from the pain. She bit down on her bottom lip hard, causing her mouth to be filled with the warm taste of blood. It ran down her chin, landing softly by her throat. Her struggled steps slowed down to almost a stop as she wiped at her bleeding lip. The warm blood stained her hands, making them a dark crimson red. An almost inhuman sound escaped from her throat, a strangled cry that echoed throughout the dark, barren, sky. She placed her hands to her face, tears finally releasing from her once dry eyes. They mixed with the blood, leaving it a watery pink. The droplets fell down her cheeks and dripped into the corners of her lips. She soon fell, the empty sobs taking control of her body. Rey let herself collapse onto the ground. The sand scattered across her face and tangled itself in her hair. The grains sticking to her matted head. "I didn't think it would ever come to this." The voice purred. "L-Leave me alone!" She coughed out, the blood still dripping violently from her many cuts. "Oh, I really wish I could...but..." He came close to her face, she could feel his breath, cold on her cheek. "I don't plan on it." Rey grimaced at his touch, squirming ever so slightly away from him. He ran a pale,cold finger along her cheek. "You are such a pretty thing, shame I have to kill you." His tongue lapped at the blood rushing down from her lips. "Get away from me!" Rey hissed, narrowing her eyes at him. "Get away or I will stake you in the heart." The pale vampire merely laughed, shaking his head at her. "Calm down little doggy, your bark is worse than your bite. Her eyes scanned over his fangs, they were shiny, fluorescent white, and about to go into her neck. She squinted her eyes tightly, her head dizzy from blood loss. Rey knew she was a goner. "You know what little doggy? I'm excited to see the life drain from your eyes." His whisper ran shivers down her back. "Such a shame you were a dirty slayer." Her mouth was frozen shut in fear and her eyes blurred. "Dirty, dirty slayer." His finger ran down her cheek once again, she flinched away, frightened shivers running down her back once again.
