Few months later
"Jasmine, dinner is ready." My dad said coming in my room. I closed my notebook peering up at him, standing by the door.
"Okay. I'm coming." I mumbled. He looked at me one last time before walking off. I let out a long sigh before I got up from my spot on my bed. I walked out of my room and I took my time going down the stairs. I could hear laughing and other voices besides my dad coming from the dining room.
I furrowed my eyebrows together continuing my walk down the stairs. Once I had a clear view of who was seated in the dining room I immediately became upset. My mom, aunt and cousins were all sitting down.
"Oh look, the dyke finally made it downstairs." I heard my aunt snicker to herself causing her daughters to laugh. I rolled my eyes as I approached the table. I looked over at her son who just shook his head while picking around at his food. My dad cleared his throat motioning for me to take a seat in between him and my cousin.
"Ew no. I don't want her gay ass to sit next to me. She is the definition of disgusting. I don't even see why you guys still claim her as your daughter." She said stopping me in my tracks, causing me to stiffen up.
"Sit down Jasmine." My dad spoke up. The room was silent, the only thing that could be heard was forks scraping the plate. I played around with my food while everybody awkwardly ate.
"How did that dick feel to you when you were little Jasmine? I know it felt-."
"Is this some kind of a joke?" I asked cutting my aunt off. Every time we had a run in, she would constantly remind me of what happened and how I'm a disgrace to the family.
"Is what a joke?" She asked
"Why the fuck are yall here? I mean I am a disgrace to the family, so why the fuck are you-."
"Jasmine stop it. You stop it right now." My dad said raising his voice.
"Damn. Really dad. Since I've came down those steps, I've been disrespected, and you want me to stop?" I asked looking at him not being able to believe that he was telling me to stop when his sister and daughters were the ones who started it.
"Look just calm down. They are here because they were in town and they thought it would be nice to have a big happy family dinner since it's been a while." I scoffed at his comment.
"A family dinner? You call this shit happy? This isn't a fucking family. Family doesn't disown each other." I said glaring at my aunt and her daughters.
"Look Jasmine, nobody wants you in this family. We are very Christian like in this family, and you already know what the bible says about gay people. It is a sin. In my opinion it's the biggest sin of all. Gays are supposed to be put to death. I'm sorry you're such a fuck up and-."
"Alright Laura, that is enough! You are going to stop disrespecting my daughter. I am a strong believer in God, and I am a Christian but that doesn't mean I am going to disrespect my daughter because of a choice she made. You're wrong. Being gay, isn't the biggest sin of all. No sin is bigger than the other. If you don't like my daughter for who she is then fine, but I will not allow you to disrespect her any longer. She does and says nothing to you, so I would like it if you just kept your damn mouth shut. Keep her fucking name out of your mouth." The whole room got quiet as everybody looked at each other.
"Laura, I think it's time for you to go." My dad said speaking up. She took her eyes off of my mom and looked at my dad with hurt evident in her eyes.
Fake ass bitch.
"Fine, lets go girls." She said picking up her purse. They quietly left out of the dining room. Once the front door close, my mom started going at my dads neck.
