Mrs.Kim waved goodbye to Mr.Yoo and Seokjin as their dinner had just ended. It was nearly ten and everyone was starting to leave as the restaurant closed at 10:15.
"Hyunwoo ah" she called out to her brother who was busy wiping off the tables. He looked at her before continuing to wipe the tables. Mrs.Kim only scoffed at her brother's attitude.
"What do you want?" He answered not giving her a single glance. Yes they were siblings but on bad terms. "I need some information about one of your workers" she started.
Noticing he didn't reply she sighed before continuing, "Her name is Son Seungwan"
Slowly Hyunwoo put down his rag and turned to look at her. Without a doubt, she knew she had caught her brother's attention and smiled victoriously.
At the hospital....
Seungwan unzipped her jacket and sat down next to her father. She grabbed her fathers hand and placed it against her cheek missing his touch. "Wake-up soon" she prayed before placing her father's hand back down.
Wiping away a tear that had fell, she reached inside the pocket of her jacket and took out her paychek.
"I need 1,900 dollars more" she looked at the paycheck that take care of one hundred dollars. She only had four more days to pay off the medical bills. "What am I going to do?" She cried silently not wanting to bring in nurses or doctors. But a knock on the door made her quickly dry off her tear. "Yes?"
A nurse came in and told her she had a visitor waiting for her in the lobby. "Thank you" Seungwan thanked and headed out the room thinking who would visit her at this hour. She walks into the lobby seeing almost no body there. Only a few people either talking on the phone or to someone. "Miss Seungwan ssi?" She heard and turned around.
An old age women walked up to her. "Your Son Seungwan right?" And she could only nod. She had no idea who the lady was, but by the way she dressed, anyone can tell she was filthy rich. "I'm Kim Sooyoung, my husband is the chairman of this hospital" Seungwan bowed not knowing what else to do. "Is there something you needed to talk to me about?" She questioned Mrs.Kim since she did visit her.
But Mrs.Kim gave her a laugh. "I want to make an offer to you" she said taking a seat. Seungwan's eyebrow arched as she asked, "What kind of offer?" Mrs.Kim patted the seat next to her and Seungwan took the seat. "Well you see my son and I live in a big house and well we dont have that many maids to take care and clean the house. Plus the ones we have right now arent that satisfying" she explained but Seungwan only wondered why she was telling her all of this.
"I heard that your father is in need of a quick heart transplant" Seungwan nodded.
"Here's the offer. I want you to come work as our maid and in return I'll pay for your father's heart transplant" Seungwan's eyes widened at the mention of her father's medical bills being paid for. She looked at Mrs.Kim wondering why she chose her. "You're probably wondering why I chose you but when I saw you working at the restaurant a few hrs ago. You were quick, respectful and quite responsible. You would make our house look amazing if you worked for me. And not only that but I'll give you a pay of 300 dollars a month" Seungwan's heart jumped out of her chest. 300 dollars a month? That was 2/3 more then what she could ever earn now.
Mrs.Kim took out something that looked like a contract or something and handed Seungwan a pen. "This will be our contract, it strictly states that I'll pay for your father's medical bills as long as you come to our house and become our maid. You'll also have to live there with us and as for your father we'll send him overseas to make sure that his brain and new heart will keep him alive for the next 50 years and so on" Mrs.Kim explained.
"But who'll watch my father?" Seungwan asked.
"I'll send him to our house in the U.S and he'll be able to live there comfortably with my maids and servants to take care of him." Seungwan looked back down at the contract. She didnt know what to do, she didnt know if she could trust this lady. "It states here that you may quit anytime you want but you must work for me for at least a year for that part to be valid" she explained even further.
She placed her hand on Seungwan's shoulder and gave her a soft smile, "I know how much you love your father and if you want to help him, this is the best choice for you. I promise you that this isnt a scam. Think about your father"
Seungwan thought hard. How could she possibly let them take her father all the way to the U.S . No one would take care of him like she would. Her mind was telling her not to but her heart was yearning for the pen so that she could sign the contract. There were no possible ways for her to earn 2K in four days and this offering was like a miracle for her. If she agreed, her father would have a chance of living and it'll allow him to get healthier. Maybe she could work for them until her father came back to his regular health. Then she'll quit and live together with her father again. Yea...that seemed like a good plan to her.
She grabbed the pen, "Where do I sign?"

Seokjin underline the sentence and wrote it down in his notes.
"Tumors are amazing" he whispered before reading more into the book about tumors. Yes, he likes to stay up late just to learn as much as he can. "Seokjin ah, are you still up?" He heard his mother call from outside his door. He closed the book and went to unlock his door. "Did you need something mom?" He asked when his mother walked into the room and fixed his bed. She smooths out the wrinkled sheets before turning to her son.
She smiled at him, "I want you to take Jisoo to our house tomorrow"
Seokjin looked at his mother confusingly. "Why?" He asked but he knew the answer. His mother wanted them to get closer. But never once has Jisoo stepped foot inside his house in over 5 years. He couldnt lie, it would be super awkward when he brought her here tomorrow. "I want her to get used to the house before she moves in with us after your marriage" his mother explained.
"And exactly when is the marriage?"
"Until Jisoo is well known first. Then we'll decide on a date"
