Chapter Twenty-Three

Another update, woo! I'm updating lots lately because I go back to school tomorrow and I don't know how frequently I will get to update then. I have my mock exams coming up in December so I have to study. To be honest, I should've been studying in the holidays but I got completely distracted, oops. My facebook has been deactivated so it doesn't distract me, so I'm hoping that this half term, I can knuckle down on school work but also have time to update quite frequently.

I have a question for you; do you think I've dragged this out too long? Like fanfictions I've read lately have gotten straight to the point with the focus of the relationship, and I feel like it's pretty ridiculous that I'm twenty-odd chapters in and Vic and Tay still aren't in a relationship. I'm just trying to make it realistic, you know. I'm not trying to tease anybody or anything, I just want this to work out properly.

ALSO IS IT BAD THAT I MAY OR MAY NOT SHIP TAY AND JORDAN? LIKE NO THEY'RE JUST BEST FRIENDS BUT NOW I'M STUCK ON WHAT TO DO.

Vic’s POV;

“Jenna,” I started as I muted the television. “There’s something I need to tell you.”

The past couple of days had been spent with me running what Jordan said at Alex’s party through my head repeatedly like a record on loop. You hurt Tay in a completely different way, man. Figure it out for yourself. This was all so strange to me. Tay had acted fine with me, not like I had hurt her at all. It was like we were still seventeen at times when I was with her, and from the way her beautiful smile lit up her features, I’d say it was pretty similar for her.

Although, at times she did act a little differently. Like whenever Jenna was involved. Yeah, keep kidding yourself. When I mentioned telling Jenna about my memory the other morning, Tay turned around as if to hide the sad expression that I’d managed to catch. And at Alex’s party, she refused to acknowledge me when Jenna was there. She ran off the stage as soon as Jenna leant up to kiss me-

Stop it, Vic. She doesn’t see you that way and she never has. You’re head over heels for a girl who couldn’t give a shit because she’s too good for you. I guess she was acting this way because it was awkward between her and Jenna, right? I mean they argued didn’t they? Yeah, that’s all it was.

After all, why would she ever have feelings for me like I have for her? Damn, feelings suck. They sucked when I was seventeen, and they sucked right now. Taylor was beautiful, I was mediocre. She was amazing, I was lame. She had talent, I was boring. She was perfect, I was full of flaws. I’m a walking flaw and I ruin things for everyone. I hurt people when I really didn’t want to. And I was just about to hurt Jenna.

We’d been dating for over a year. I met her out of coincidence when we were touring in Australia and I fell for her. Not in the way I fell for Tay, but still, I did. I guess she kinda reminded me of her. I mean, she wasn’t the brunette, tiny, adorable American girl, but her personality was astonishingly similar. But there was no denying that Tay was constantly on my mind, even when I’d been isolated from her for five years. She was always there.

Bumping into her at Warped brought back a whole flood of memories, and even though she was pissed as hell at me, I couldn’t help but find her cute. Things with Jenna just never felt right since. Kissing her felt wrong, holding her felt wrong, being around her felt wrong. Maybe it was the added tension of me losing my memory too but even despite that I couldn’t deny my feelings for Taylor any longer. And I couldn’t lead Jenna on anymore, whether I was going to get anywhere with Tay or not.
