(Your both 16, BTW)
You couldn't believe your eyes; you had decided to skip your easy third period class to do some work in the library but as you made your way to the back corner you looked over a bookshelf and saw your boyfriend of eighth months sitting at the table on his spare, with the exchange student from France, Monique, on his lap, making out. A whirlwind of emotions hit you, you wanted to: scream, yell, cry, throw her off him, punch him, and then cry some more. But this was school, you couldn't really do any of those things without suffering more humiliation than you were already feeling, so you turned and left letting the tears fall down your face.
You headed to your locker to abandon your books and made the decision to walk home. Letting out a sniffle and drying your eyes with your sleeve you slowly closed your locker, almost not noticing the boy leaning on the locker next to yours. You recognized him as Jacob Sartorius, rumoured player, tough guy, troubled, or so you heard. But you were almost certain he had a soft side. Giving him a small smile you quickly turned your head before you started crying again, walking faster so you could get out of the building as soon as possible. Footsteps followed you to the sidewalk and were soon by your side. Looking next to you you saw Jacob again. You tried to get ahead but his hand grabbed your arm.
"Hey wait" he whispered "why are you crying?"
"Doesn't matter."
"Sure it does."
"Well it's a long story"
"Then you can tell me about it on the ride home."
"I'm walking home actually."
"Not anymore" he pulled a set of keys out of his pocket, "I'll drive."
"You just won't quit will you?" You asked growing frustrated
A small smile appeared on his face "Nope"
A shaky breath escaped your mouth as you sighed "Fine."
Just like that you were walking back to the school parking lot; Jacob opened your door and nodded for you to get in. As he slid into the drivers seat he asked "So what happened?"
Tears began to form in your eyes as you tried to explain what happened, the image repeating itself over and over. You made an attempt to speak but just started sobbing. You barely heard Jacob tell you to take your time and breathe. You rested your head on the window as he started to drive in silence.
Minutes later you mumbled softly, "I saw them."
"Saw who?" He asked, trying to focus on you without looking away from the road, quickly pulling into a parking lot so he could give you his full attention.
Slowly, you were able to tell the story of what you saw in the library. When you finally finished you looked over at him; a mix of sympathy and disgust plastered on his face. The disgust won and he scoffed, "What a prick." His eyes widened and he quickly added "and I'm sorry."
You managed a small laugh before responding "No, he is a total prick." you laughed a little harder.
"Well at least you smiled."
"Thanks for that."
"What's your name anyway?"
"Y/N, Y/N Y/L/N"
"I'm Jacob, Jacob Sartorius ."
"I know." You realized how weird that sounded as the words left your mouth, a blush crept on your cheeks.
He looked at you, first curiously, and then worried, he asked what you had heard. You told him things you overheard and dismissed the rumours, making sure to tell you the hilarious stories that went with the true things. Eventually he got you to your house, as you were about to get out of the car he stopped you, "You aren't gonna forgive him are you?"
You chuckled and replied "Not a chance."
"Do youuu want revenge?" He said with a playful smirk, clearly playing with a thought in his head.
"Kind of, okay, absolutely!"
"Perfect. Leave your second period early tomorrow and meet me in the library."
You nodded and let yourself out, turning to wave as you opened the door to your house.
The next day you did as instructed and snuck out of class early, just as the bell rang you entered the library; you were much calmer than the day before, after telling your best friend what happened she convinced you your boyfriend was no good and moving on was the best option. Your eyes scanned for Jacob who flagged you down from the back of the room. You hurried over to him and he pulled out a chair for you.
"So what's the pla- oh shit." you began to ask him a question but got sidetracked as your boyfriend and Monique entered the library, They didn't seem to notice you, but were headed straight for your table.
"I knew they'd be back, excellent." Jacob spoke up next to you.
"How is this excellent?" you whispered harshly.
Jacob answered not with words but with actions, you found yourself being pulled into his lap and his lips met yours. You almost pushed him off when you realized what he was doing, tangling your hands in his hair you furiously kissed him back.
A loud voice came from behind you, "Y/N what the hell is this?!" your boyfriend snapped.
You lingered in the kiss for a moment before you pulled away from Jacob , a smug smile on your face, "Well I saw you here yesterday and figured two can play at that game"
You watched as his eyes went wide, he opened his mouth to speak but Monique piped up "Who is this?" she asked through her thick accent.
"His girlfriend, well, ex girlfriend now" you turned back to him "we're done."
"GIRLFRIEND!?" She yelled and before anyone else could speak she was dragging him back into the hallway.
Finally you could look down at Jacob, who was biting his knuckle in an attempt to avoid laughter. As you climbed off him and back to your seat you smiled, "well that was fun!" and truly it was; the fact that he was an amazing kisser definitely didn't hurt things.
"Yeah." He turned to you and smiled "We'll have to do it again sometime." He added with a wink.
Suddenly you were blushing again, "Sure."
He leaned in and gave you a much softer kiss, the first of many.
