Chapter 5: Emperor Knows the Truth

Areshia Ashley Mondragon POV:

I'm having a hard time to sleep. So I stayed in veranda for almost an hour now. I tried my efforts to sleep but my eyes won't cooperate. My mind is wondering from somewhere. I can't even forget what happened a while ago. I can't believe I defended myself to them. No words can express my mind but surprise. It seems I'm hiding different personality inside me. That's weird. I've never been like that before, since I can remember. Well anyway, it was just a spur of the moment that's why I said those words.

The emperor ordered his guards to see for his self about what happened earlier. And the guards confirmed that what I said is true. No words lifted to their mouth but regrets. The emperor was so disappointed with them and they will be punish for that actions. They will be cleaning the whole garden in the palace early by tomorrow. And the emperor obliged them not to use their skills in cleaning the whole area. Well, that's the pries they need to pay for disobeying the rules.

Finally, I decided to at least try to sleep but someone got my attention that made me stop and it was Bash. He is leaning to the door way and waited for me there.

Bash POV:

I was away for almost two weeks. For I am arranging very important matters for the selections. Cedric accompany me with that journey. He is one of my guards and knew exactly who I am. But I cannot even tell for now. It is the secret not to be told especially for the ten ladies. The competition that I prepared is to challenge all of the ladies how deep is their will to win the selections, as off to be the bride of the emperor. Five major tasks I want them to fulfill. And if one ladies will make it until the very end, she will win.

I walk straight to my bedroom when suddenly I saw Lady Ashley in the veranda. How on earth she didn't sleep at this hour? Its almost twelve in the midnight. She's peacefully looking to the wide area of the garden with no one with her. I wanted to attack her, maybe one bite would be enough to satisfy my need as a drinker. But something in me respects her. Where could I possibly get that kind of idea. It is a strange feeling that invade me at this very moment. So I end up waiting for her in the door way. I leaned my back to support me from waiting. My waiting lasted for almost 30 minutes until she noticed me. I can see through her eyes that she's shock upon my arrival. She goes directly to my side and vow for respect.

"Good evening sir." She said politely.

"Why on earth you're still awake?" I said with a bit irritation.

"Well, I can't sleep for now mister. It seems I'm having insomnia. Its a rare case for me."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. Oh wait. There's something in your forehead Mr. Oh my God! You're bleeding!" She said in panic voice. I wanted to laugh at her but I couldn't, because she's so serious when she sees my cut in my forehead. I wanted to tell her that its fine, but she already running in the medical area to get some medicine in there. And when she gets back, she already have the medicine kit in her hands.

Without hesitations, she carefully wipes my wounds using the cotton in her hands. I can't help but mesmerized at the moment. This woman always surprised me. I wonder what else should I know this coming few days. And I couldn't help but noticed how caring she is. I need to wake up! This is not the right time for this. I avoided myself with her touch. But she really insisted her hands in my forehead.

"Are you flirting with me?" I said with a bit of amusement towards her.

"What made you think that way?"
