Serena's Pov
"WAKE UP TIME! SQUAW!"
I shot awake from the pain of being pecked on the forehead by my mother, Grace's annoying Parrot named Millie."OWWWWWWW!!!" As I screamed as I bolted upwards off of my bed. I chased him towards the window and looked out to see that annoying bird perched on a tree branch not 10 feet from my window. I looked down, and saw my mothers horse. Unlike my moms pestilential parrot, her horse Lucy was a sturdy, quiet Buddy I could always rely on.
"Serena dear?" My mother poked her head into my room, looking around until seeing me at the window.
"Serena, Im making you some of your favorite foods for your first day back! Come quickly, I want to talk to you a bit before you run off on me." My mom was way to excited for me going back to school.
"I will, thanks mom." I mumbled out, rubbing my head still from the peck.
I started getting ready for the day, got in my morning shower, brushed my teeth, did my hair, and got dressed. My outfit consisted of a black tank top with little frills around the neck, a high waisted red skirt, high top sneakers that were black with a pink pokeball on the side, and leggings going up to just beneath my skirt. My look was all topped off by a pink hat with a black bow and ribbon going around it. I've always loved fashion and making myself look as good as possible. I didn't do it for boys, I didn't have much of a mind for them. I didn't do it for the girls either, I didn't care much what others thought.
I started making my way downstairs and I could not wait to get to school! I know it seems nerdy, but really I just want to see my friends after this great summer.
I sat down at the dining table and was immediately greeted by my mother with a giant stack of waffles, all with different toppings and fillings! I wanted to tear into them, but had to eat carefully so I didn't get any stains on my outfit. Black clothes and powdered sugar do not mix well, trust me.
The silence of the room was broken by my mom as usual.
" So Serena, are you excited for today?" She asked as she began eating her breakfast.
"YES! I've been dying to see my friends, I don't think I've seen may or misty for a few weeks now!" I blurted out, still having food in my mouth.
My mother let out a small chuckle.
" Well, what about boys? You never mention anything about your love life, so tell me!"
I could not believe what my mom had just said, she knew I wasn't looking for someone! I just sat there staring at her like a deer caught in the headlights. A slight tint of pink came over my face.
"You know, I think calem next door has a little crush on you!" My mother whisper yelled.
I never thought of calem like that but maybe if he likes me it would be nice... But no. I don't think I could ever bring myself to date him. There was nothing wrong with him, it's just that it would be so weird! We've been friends for so long now that I have no romantic feelings for him.
"Mom... I- I don't have any feelings for Calem!" I almost yelled, my mother taken aback by that.
"Okay, Okay! I was just teasing!" My mom checks her watch, and with a frightened jump she hopped out of her chair.
"I'm gonna be late! Sweetie I need to get going, I hope you have the best of days today!" My mom may be annoying sometimes, but I still love her to bits.
After my mom ran out of the door I checked my watch. 6:45, the bus would be here soon, so I walked down to the stop, and on my way down patted Lucy on the head.
"Neighhhh!!!" Lucy reined back.
As I approached the bus stop I spotted Calem, the boy who lives next door to me, Clement, a boy genius so to speak, and my best friend, Dawn.
"Hiya guys!" I yelled to them as I approached the stop. They all turned around to see me.
Calem was a boy with messy brown hair almost covering his eyes. He wore a blue track jacket, jeans and high tops, and a brimmed baseball cap.
Clement had the brightest of blond hair you could imagine. A few pieces stuck up in the back, and he wore a blue and yellow jumpsuit.
Dawn, my absolute favoritest person in the whole world had blue hair and parted it with two blonde clips. She was similar to me in the way that she loves fashion, but I think her motives are different... (It's boys!).
"SERENA!" Dawn exclaimed, almost tackling me into a hug. While I did see her more often then the others, we still didn't meet frequently.
"Hey there Serena!" Said Calem while cracking a smile. Now that my mother mentions it, he was acting kind of awkward near me lately...
"Oh, hello there..." Clemont squeaked out. He was a little awkward, especially around girls.
We all spent the next few minutes chatting away about our excitements and anxieties about this school year.
As the bus pulled up we all climbed on and headed to school. I have a good feeling about today, but I can't tell why.
