Chapter Thirty Eight - Jelousy

Ash's Pov

     Today was the day of the party, and it started in a few minutes. I had my sweater, and I found Serena the perfect gifts! I got her another bottle of her favorite perfume, a book she's been wanting, and a ring. I asked Grace what her birthstone and preference was, so I knew it would be perfect!

     I grabbed all of Serena's presents and headed out the door. The air was frigid and blew through my hair. It was only a short walk to Serena's though. I decided to show up early so I was the first one to get there.

"Ashy!" Serena grabbed me and pulled me inside.

"Merry Christmas." I said and kissed her. We were interrupted by the flash of a camera.

"SOO CUTE!" Grace ran over and hugged me.

"Mom!" Serena was clearly upset she ruined the moment.

"Hello Mrs. Yvonne!" I greeted her.

"Enough of that Ash my name is Grace!"

     We all sat down and talked until the others showed up. The first to arrive was Clemont, and he brought his little sister Bonnie. She was about 11 and had blonde hair like Clemont.

"Hello everyone!" Clemont entered the house as Bonnie hid behind him. We all said our hellos, and then sat down again.

     We waited until the rest of the group showed up to start doing anything. Once everyone showed up, grace excused herself. If only my mom could be that cool. The second everyone showed up, we started exchanging gifts. I only got the others gift cards to things I know they like.

     It came time for Serena and I to exchange presents. I handed out the things I bought her, and she did the same. We both tore in to look. I got an awesome black sweatshirt like the one I have, a bottle of sprinkles for Pikachu, and best of all, tons of baked stuff!

     Serena's eyes lit up when she saw the ring. She ran over and tackled me into a hug. Tears formed in her eyes and she was so happy. It made it worth the fact I sold my game console to afford it.

     I looked over Serena's embrace to see Calem eyeing us from afar. He was clearly jealous. I don't know why, but he ruined the moment. I felt bad for him, but I can't have him being so down all the time. I think I'll talk to him again.

     My thoughts were interrupted by the little girl, Bonnie.

"Man, if only CLEMONT could find love like that." She rolled her eyes.

"BONNIE I SAID TO STOP IT WITH THIS!" Clemont dragged her into the hallway to scold her.

     Serena was busy showing the ring to her friends, and I saw Calem go out onto the porch. I guess now was my time. I followed him out quietly and started talking to him.

"Calem, we need to talk." I told him.

"Why, wanna rub it in some more?" Calem turned to me, with red eyes.

"No Calem. I want to talk to you about Serena though.

"Fine." He turned away again.

"I know that you still love her, and I saw how you felt in there. I know you hate me, but I don't want you to. I just want to be friends, and have us both be happy."

"Do you Ash? You are a goodie two-shoes, but I doubt you mean that. I think really your guilty, and want to seem like a better guy to Serena!" He yelled at me.

"Calem, please calm down. I really want you to be happy."

"THEN LEAVE ME ALONE!"

     Time slowed down in this moment. Everyone ran to the Windows because they hear him. I looked back to Calem, and before I knew it I got punched across the cheek, hard.
