You raced inside to shelter yourself from the downpour of icy rain happening right over the streets of London. The warmth of being inside again gave you shivers. You were home. Finally...
You had been away on a business trip for a few weeks and being home again and getting to see Sherlock again was possibly the best feeling in the world.
You scampered up the squeaky, faded steps and burst inside through the door... There was nothing.

"Sherlock?" You questioned, your voice seeming to ring through the lifeless and noiseless flat.
"Sherlock?" You asked as you aimlessly wandered through your home.
And you saw the bedroom door closed... You lightly walked towards it... Your fingers lingered to the icy, untouched doorknob...
And when you opened the door, you saw him... Laying on the bed.... His eyes were red and bloodshot and he had dark circles under his eyes.
