Song: Mirror by Lil Wayne
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I see you stare at the mirror,
You're petrified, step nearer.
I see your vacant eyes,
The misery in there is vocalized.Your soul stares right back,
Pleading to be freed,
From all the emotions trapped inside.
To let it once again fly higher,
Away from lust and greed.
You raise your hand, trying to touch and see for yourself,
Wondering how anything so miserable can be left alive,
The touch seems surreal
With only fingerprints left behind.I see her barren smile,
It's been feigned for awhile.
I used to see the longing, the promise, and the hope,
Now I wish the despair and destitute elopes.I try to smile back,
But fruitless it turns out to be.
I can see her struggling to break free,
The hope that lived in her once before, a broken promise.
Wishing for it to come back and shock her dormant heart, breathing some life back in
Allowing her soul to break free,
Experiencing the life as seen
By poets and artists alike,
And not the realist inside her being.Oh, how she lives now in motions,
Passing through them so no one raises a brow.
And question her actions,
Oh how the once lively girl I knew has turned out to be.I see the pieces and shreds of you,
Talking about it is absolutely taboo.
I hear a cry, a sob and a plea
But what scares me is that in you,
I see me.
Insecurities wither away a person from within. Inferiority complex often leads to depression. Often we fail to understand our own value and forget our worth. This poem is about a girl who drowned into the abyss of insecurities and forgot the real her, it was too late when she realised what she has done.
