Arthur, Francis and I had met up recently to have a proper discussion about our characters and the issue of the 'stage-kiss'. I had, in fact, been given the role of Christine, Francis had been given Raoul, and Arthur, The Phantom. I was surprised how serious Francis was about it and, although he was a bit of a flirt normally, he promised sincerely that he would not take advantage of me in any way and, in fact, he volunteered to help me with those scenes in order to make it less awkward, allowing me to fit comfortably into the character, which I greatly appreciated.

A few weeks had passed and rehearsals were going smoothly. I was annoyed when I heard that Charnette would be in the show and she was playing the role of La Carlotta, which she was not happy with. I personally thought it was rather fitting. She wouldn't stop whining though and she was beginning to get on everyone's nerves. After a few complaints, however, Jessica threatened to kick her out of the show, which immediately shut up the angry girl. As much as she didn't want to play the character, to be involved with such a famous theatre company was a golden opportunity, and Charnette would be a fool to throw it away.

It was a cold Saturday morning and I was working on an essay for my university course. All distractions were switched off and my phone was on the opposite end of the room with WIFI turned off to stop myself from checking notifications. I was determined to finish the first draft before I left for work in the evening.

"SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD!" My phone shrieked loudly and I grumbled, standing up to see who was calling. I was surprised to see Arthur's ID on my phone, considering I had told him I would be working today. I clicked the answer icon. "Hello?"

"[Name], where are you right now?" Arthur spoke seriously.

"At home. What's wrong?" I asked slowly.

"Go and turn the TV on to BBC News, there's something you should see," He said, his voice sounding grim over the line.

"Okay," I replied cautiously, walking quickly downstairs into the lounge and turning on the TV. It was Mum's day off and she looked at me with surprise as I sat on the sofa, changing the channel to BBC.

"Shouldn't you be working, [Name]?" Mum asked, raising a brow in disapproval. I wasn't listening, though. I gasped in horror as I saw the news headline.

Stargaze Opera House building set on fire last night

"Oh, my..." I gasped. "The theatre. The one that we've been rehearsing at," I said in shock and devastation.

"I'm just as appalled as you are," Arthur said grimly. I listened as a news reporter began to speak.

"Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed half the building of the Stargaze Opera house, which was recently being used as a rehearsal and performance venue for The Black Fish Theatre Company as they prepare for their upcoming show, The Phantom of the Opera. Witnesses report that smoke began rising from the building at 11 o'clock last night and by the time the fire brigade were called to the scene, half the building had been destroyed from the inside. Police have concluded that this was a deliberate attempt of property damage and currently have two suspects in questioning. Although there is relief that no one was injured in the fire, the damage caused will take many years to fully repair." The reported finished their summary of the events and handed back to the studio. I was in utter shock at what had happened and couldn't think of anything to say.
