These dark halls seemed endless. I had no way of knowing where I was or how I was going to get out of this place and it was a matter of time before Norrie woke up. I was throbbing all over which wasn't helping the situation and with every corner I turned, I had no idea what was waiting for me.
I was forced to stop because the blow to my head was making me feel dizzy. I leaned against the stone cold wall and took a breath. Nobody seemed to be around and I had no idea how many people Lock had employed.
People like him never seem to surprise me.
After a few minutes of resting, I forced myself to move my ass to try and find a way out of here because they were coming for me. Long hallways, small rooms and no exit. I was beginning to go around in circles until I stopped to think. People like Lock would keep places like this isolated and out of range so, I was either screwed or really screwed.
"The girl's missing and Lock won't be very happy when he finds out." A voice says to somebody. I backed up against a wall and held my breath. I squeezed my eyes shut at the fact that I was nearly caught and in pain. "Right," the other voice said, "I'll head back to the main office." Footsteps departed the other way but I knew that there was a presence nearby.
I was going to have to fight my way out of this even if the pain was over throwing me. The footsteps slowly approached where I was, this wall was protecting me right now but not for long. Once he reached the end of the hall, I smacked him in the face with my elbow and he went tumbling back. I revealed myself as he held his nose and he grabbed for his gun which was not there.
Lucky me.
He came up to me and tried to punch me but I swung my leg around his neck, jump up to sit on his neck and pulled him down with all the force I had. Pain began to set in before I knocked him out and then I lost my touch. He used his arm to knock me off and I slid up against the wall, I winced in pain but I fought it off. He got up and kicked me in the stomach and I groaned as the pain shot up my body.
He grabbed my hair and slammed me into the concrete floor, I felt my nose swell up with blood and it began dripping onto the ground. I lied flat on my back, feeling defeated as he reached for his radio. I used my hands to get onto my knees, feeling weak and exhausted. It crackled and before he spoke into it, I got onto my feet and kicked his kneecap. His knee collapsed and he fell to the ground, he moaned and squirmed as I stood over him.
"And that is what you get for getting in my way." I said to him, feeling like I couldn't fight anymore. I kicked him in the stomach, the same way he kicked me, and let him moan in pain. When I thought it was over, he swung his legs and hit me underneath my own legs, making me fall onto my back.
I hit my head again and cursed at myself for being so poor at my fighting skills, my dad would be so disappointed. The man stood over me and placed his foot on my stomach and even if it wasn't there, I wouldn't have the strength to get up.
You don't let them win, okay? I heard Noah's voice fill my mind. You need to fight this because you're something special and you have an amazing talent of kicking people's butts and giving them rude comebacks.
I smiled at his words, hearing his voice like he was right beside me. "I've got her, no need to worry Lock." He spoke into the radio as I used one of my legs to knock him in a place that would hurt. He fell back and hit the wall with a thump but his pain didn't last long.
I got up on my feet and punched this guy square in the face. I punched him again and again and again until my fists began to hurt. He slid down the wall and onto the ground unconscious. I leaned against the wall, trying to catch my breath before I moved on.
