I didn't think
I would be writing love poems
about you.
I didn't think
the first time I saw you
I would one day miss your laugh.
I didn't think
one day I'd miss the warmth of your skin
being so close to me.
I didn't think
I would talk to you,
and you'd talk to me,
and I'd feel empty if a day went by
that I couldn't listen to you
spilling your mind.
I didn't think
looking at your pictures
would still open the shoebox of butterflies
you left in my stomach.
I didn't think
the taste of you mouth would still
linger on my lips from time to time.
I didn't think
my heart would still yearn
to be close to yours.
But I suppose I could never think
when I was around you.

a/n: hello, just a lil poem I wrote right now, at 12:47 p.m. So I know I said I would be writing a ton over summer, but my lack of posting probably has made you think otherwise. But trust me, I have; just not a whole lot of poetry. I have mostly been writing short passages about different life experiences. I'm considering making a new book with all of those, so I would really appreciate your opinions on that idea. And in other news, I start school in 13 days!!! So not excited!!! I hope you all have been having a great summer :)
