Shadows-

"How do you know my name?" I asked Steven. He chuckled.

"I know everyone's name. Everyone on the entire planet." He replied. I gaped at him. Was this guy really telling the truth?

"So Steven, what is your job, since you are neither alive or dead.. No offense, but what is the purpose of you being here?" I asked. His eyes landed on the bag that I was hiding behind my back.

"That bag you are holding, it'll tell you about what I am if you really take a look at it." He said. I slowly brought the bag from behind my back and started to look through the objects. I grabbed the ring and examined the small words inscribed on it. Madeline & Fred, Forever and Always. I let out a gasp and I felt Steven come closer. "Maddie, my job is to make sure that the people who have passed on and the people who have not still remember each other."

"W-What-?" I stuttered.

"Maddie, right now is the time that memories are fading from not only your mind, but Toby, Arabella and Fred's as well. You are trying to forget him, Fred I mean, trying to erase all memory of him. But it's killing you inside. And same goes with Fred," He paused and I locked eyes with him. "Fred's memory of you is beginning to falter." He was going to continue but I cut him off.

"What happens if you don't get to the people in time?" I asked him. He frowned.

"The people who are still alive that I don't get too.. they simply move on. You might think it's a good thing, but it's really not. Because they moved on, the people who have passed on completely vanish. Gone forever and forgotten."

"So if Fred ever forgets me, then I'm done? That's it?" I asked. He nodded. "What are you planning on doing?" Steven slowly lifted the bag away from me, but handed the ring and blanket over.

"I'm planning on placing this necklace somewhere where Fred could easily spot it. It's simple really, he sees the necklace and memories of you will come flooding back. It's a rather sad process, but it get's the job done."

"Elliot.. Is it alright if I stay with you tonight?" I asked. We were on our way home from Hogwarts, fifth year was finally over! Elliot and I sat in a compartment by ourselves, our friends wondering the corridor for the Candy lady.

"Of course you can." Elliot replied, but gave my hair a ruffle. "Are you nervous about going home or something?" He asked. I nodded.

"Well last time I talked to my family, I kind of exploded on them.. It was rather rude on my part.." I explained. "And then someone took this book from me and ever since then I've been feeling empty..?" Elliot chuckled.

"You and your temper." He joked. I smirked at him. "Won't your family be worried about you?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I'll just owl them.. I already told Victoire I was going over to a friend's tonight." I replied.

When we got to the train station, Elliot and I grabbed our stuff and practically ran to the Malfoys. Draco and Astoria were delighted to see me and we left for their mansion immediately.

When we arrived, I was surprised to see Scorpious excited to see me. " Arabella, won't you  play quidditch with us? I'm so ready to beat my brother's arse!" He said cockily. I giggled and smiled at him.

"Maybe later Scorp, but not right now." He frowned slightly. "Maybe later tonight, alright?" I said. He smiled and walked away. "Will you show me to my room?" I asked Elliot. He grinned and took me by the hand. We walked up the staircase and entered the first room on our left.

"Here you are Bella." Elliot said while opening the door. I walked in and placed my trunk on the bed. "Do you want to change..? Cause dinner's ready. The house elves prepared it while we were on the train." He said. I pondered.

"Elliot." I paused. "Do you have a phone?" I asked. He chuckled.

"Yes, we do. Would you like to use it?" He asked. I grinned and nodded. We walked downstairs together and into the kitchen. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Astoria and Draco in the sitting room. I grabbed the phone and dialed a number.

"Hello?" A familiar voice said.

"Umm Aunt Ginny? It's me, Arabella." I replied.

"Arabella Scarlett Weasley! We've been looking for you everywhere!" She yelled into the phone. In the background, I could hear Harry and dad.

"Aunt Ginny! Please stop yelling at me." I pleaded. She gave a sigh. "I'm sorry about giving everyone a scare. I just didn't want to face everyone after I yelled at them. I even have grown distant from Toby, and it's not like I'll see him over the summer! Apparently he is helping McGonagall redo the castle or something... Anyway, can you tell my dad that I'm staying over at a friends?" I asked.

"Arabella! You come home-" I heard dad yell in the background. But I simply hung up..

"What did they say?" Elliot asked. I laughed.

"They said I should never come home and we should run away together and get married and have children and grow old together." I smirked. Elliot grabbed my shoulders and gave me a kiss.

"Even if you are joking, that sounds fantastic." I hugged him tightly.

"How dare she!" I fumed. "Does anyone know which friend's house she is at?" I asked. Ginny and Harry shook their heads.

"Fred, I think you just need to calm down. She said she'll be home tomorrow." Ginny replied. I shook my head.

"I just want to know what's gotten into her. She once was this innocent younger girl and now.. she's becoming rebellious. She-" I was cut off by Harry.

"She's sixteen mate, of course she's going to be rebellious!" Harry laughed. I gave a smile and sat down in the chair. We sat in silence for a moment before someone knocked on the office door.

"Who is that? It's nearly one in the morning!" Ginny grumbled before opening the door, to reveal Teddy and Albus. "Shouldn't you two be in bed?" She asked. Teddy just rolled his eyes.

"I would be but Uncle Bill and Aunt Fleur are at the door with Vic." Teddy replied. We all shuffled to the front door and saw them.

"How can we help you?" Harry asked. Fleur nudged Victoire towards me.

"Victoire let slip where Bella's at." Bill said. "Go on, tell them." He said sternly. Victoire's eyes darted between all of us. I could tell she was conflicted. Teddy went over to her and gave her a hug, and she relaxed.

"Bella's going to kill me.." She mumbled. "She's at the Malfoy's house."

So short chapter, I know... I'm sorry! 

The power's been out for a few days, and I just haven't had the time to go somewhere with power to update.
