Holyhead Harpies Tryout-

On August tenth, my very old owl named Amare, came swooping into the kitchen. She dropped a letter on the table and returned to the perch in the corner of the room. "Was that Amare?" My dad called, before letting out a cough.

"Yea!" I replied. I heard my dad slowly make his way down the stairs and I set his breakfast on the table. I sat back down and ripped open the letter. As I was reading it, he sat across from me and bit into his toast. "Dad- Dad!" I squeaked. He looked alarmed. "They've just scheduled my tryout for the Holyhead Harpies!" He smiled at me.

"Congratulations, when is it?" I scanned the letter.

"Next week, Thursday to be exact." I replied. "I'm so nervous." I mumbled as I stared down at my breakfast. "Oh my, I'm so nervous." My dad chuckled.

"Don't be. You are a fantastic quidditch player." He said. I scoffed.

"You're supposed to say that. You're my father." He smiled at me. And for some reason that smile made me frown. "I'm going to go back to bed." I told him, standing up hastily. "Are you going to the shop today?"

He nodded. "Oh course I am. I own the place!" He noticed my uneasy features. "If you're wondering whether or not this dragon pox thing is contagious, it's not. It's only in me, I promise."

I let out a small sigh. "Have a good day." I told him before ascending the stairs. I crawled into bed and grabbed my wand, letting small sparks float just inches from my face. "Why is my dad so brave?" I asked to no one in particular.

"Ok Arabella, what we're going to do is release the Snitch and time you. To be more realistic, we're going to have a scrimmage, so you have to be careful about the bludgers.." I nodded as Samantha Borros explained. "Now remember that you are trying out, and to get on the team, you have to beat the other Seekers time. Are you ready?"

"Yea, are we going to only do this once?" I asked, my heart already pounding.

"Nah, we're giving you three chances." She said, before nodding off to her team, They scattered into to groups and mounted their brooms. She threw up the quaffle and released the two bludgers. I mounted my broom and flew up. She released the Snitch, let it soar into the air before blowing a whistle.

Her team became small blurs as they raced around. The wind whipped at my face, making my cheeks flush. I scanned the entire pitch, looking for the speck of gold. Inside I was freaking out, I needed to find that snitch!

As I flew around, I saw it just above a chasers head. My eyes locked on the fleck of goal, and I willed my broom to go faster. It weaved through the players, and I felt eyes watch me as I smoothly made my way around them.

"Bludger!" Someone called. I felt it coming, it was close to my back. With my eyes still on the Snitch, I rolled on my broom, watching the world go 360 degrees. The bludger flew over me and as I was upright on my broom again, I reached out and clasped the Snitch.

With a sigh of relief, I descended to the grass, and handed the Snitch to Borros. "Good catch." She said, a hint of a grin on her face. "Ready for the next one?"

"I'm always ready." I replied. And with that, she released the Snitch, and it began again.

At the end of the day, my hair was a fluffy mess in my ponytail, and my cheeks were flushed. I sat in the locker rooms, waiting for my results. Samantha had the entire team in the preparation room, and I could barely hear the muffled voices. After a grueling half an hour of waiting, I heard a door open and footsteps make there way towards me.
