Stiles thought he was going to have a panic attack on the spot but adrenaline kicked them in and suddenly, they were rushing to the hospital. Everyone was filled with panic and fear, especially Stiles. See to most people, hospitals smelt medical and somewhat normal but to Stiles, it smelt like death, even though, good things do happen in hospitals like birth, for example. When they arrived, they quickly went to the front desk. Mr. Stilinski took control, after all he was the only adult there.
"Excuse me but where can we find Ms. Lydia Martin," Mr. Stilinski asked, tapping his fingers on the table.
"Um fourth floor room 134 A," the nurse at the front desk answered.
"Thank you," Mr. Stilinski replied.
Stiles tried his best to calm his breathing as they jogged to the elevator, panic building up more and more in all of them. He took a deep, shaky breath as the elevator doors closed. Scott paced back and forth whilst biting his nails. Last time Stiles saw Scott this nervous was his first volleyball which seemed like centuries ago. Allison looked calm but Scott and Stiles knew she was not, her hands were trembling and she was sweaty, she looked like she was going to pass out herself. No one spoke in the elevator, the atmosphere was just too tense and everyone was busy silently praying. It took them awhile to find Lydia's room and when they did, they saw Lydia's parents outside, the mom crying hysterically while the father was too stunned at the sudden events to feel anything. All he did was wrapped his arms around his wife. They turned to look at them when they heard their footsteps down the hall.
"How is she?" Allison asked, "Is she alright?"
The parents exchanged glances before Lydia's mother took a deep breath and said, "I think it's time you know the whole story."
....................................................
"At first we thought it was only a minor case of anemia but when we got to the hospital, it was much worse," Lydia's mother blew her nose onto a tissue, "We only found out about it during the summer she was suppose to start high school. Lydia was getting weaker and more tired as the summer was about to end until one day she passed out. We rushed to the hospital of course, thinking it was anemia since it runs in the family from my side but then the doctors came and told us that she was diagnosed with leukemia."
"So Lydia was diagnosed with leukemia therefore she had cancer," Allison said suddenly.
Lydia's father nodded, "Yeah we did everything we could but recently, a few weeks ago I believed, the doctor told us she only had a few weeks left to live in her state"
"So what are they doing to her in there?" Scott asked,
"Blood transfusion but this time they're not sure if she's going to make it," she started to cry again
Just then one of the doctors that was inside walked out. Immediately, everyone stood up as the doctor walked towards them.
"Well? How is she?" Lydia's mother asked, a little fear hinted in her voice,
The doctor emitted a gloomy aura as he walked out and Stiles already knew the heartbreaking answer.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Martin," the doctor looked down, "She's gone."
