Stiles woke up early, even though it was the weekend. He wanted to get a lot of practice with the song because to day is the day and he did not want to disappoint Lydia again.

Yes, today was the day, the day of the competition.

Stiles went inside the kitchen and made himself coffee and a sandwich before walking back upstairs, to his piano. He was home alone as usual, since his father is on a business trip and his mother is dead.

Stiles took a sip from his coffee as he looked at the music sheet, setting it on the piano's music sheet holder. He took a deep breath, remembering everything Lydia said when they first started practicing. He was definitely not going to let those weeks of practice got to waste.

He started playing the song.

                                                             ............................................................

Stiles was surprised to actually find something decent to wear for the competition, he stood in front of the mirror, fixing his hair. He looked at the clock and went out, locking the door before walking to the park where they all agreed to meet at.

Allison and Scott better be early this time, Stiles thought once he got closer to the park.

Lydia sat there, wearing a dress with a sweater on top. She was wearing earphones so she didn't hear Stiles walking towards her. Stiles didn't want to disturb her though, she looked so peaceful. Stiles tapped her shoulder as he sat down and Lydia turned to look at him.

"Hey Stiles !" Lydia exclaimed, "Didn't hear you coming and such."

"Yup, I can tell," Stiles said looking at her earphones.

Lydia puts her earphones in her bag and looked at him again, "You look very handsome in a suiit you know."

This made Stiles blush a bit, "Thanks, I guess."

"Hey you two lovebirds!" Scott called, waving and jogging to them.

"Scott you ruined the moment," Allison said, punching his arm playfully.

Lydia stood up and waved at them, "Hey guys!"

"Hey," allison said. She looked at Stiles, "You ready? You don't have to do this if you don't want to."

"I'll be fine Allison and yeah I'm ready I guess. I hope I don't mess up," Stiles replied.

Scott patted him on the shoulder a bit har, "You'll be fine! After all, you are pretty fucking bad ass on the piano."

Stiles chuckled, "Thanks Scott."

"It's almost time," Lydia said, looking up from her watch, "We should get going."

All of them walked together to the place. When they arrived, Allison and Scott went to find seats,

"You guys go on ahead, I have to use the bathroom," Lydia said. She turned to face Stiles, "Good luck out there!" She kissed his cheek and went off to the bathroom quickly.

"Good luck buddy," Scott said as he patted Stiles on the shoulder again.

"Yup, good luck Stiles," Allison said as both of them left.

Stiles went to the other way to the backstage, where the other competitors would be. Of course, on the way there he heard whispers from the other competitors and people in general. Stiles found it annoying but he didn't blame them, he would be surprised too if a famous pianist prodigy came back after years.

He paced back and forth, looking at the music sheets, tapping his fingers on his left leg when, after a decade, it was finally his turn to perform his song with a million people watching, This time, however, he was less nervous than when he was Lydia's accompanist. He took a deep breath and stepped on stage where he would pour his heart out on stage and where he would redeem himself.

I will not make only Lydia and my friends proud, Stiles thought as he walked towards the piano, ignoring the whispers from the crowd, but I'll make mom proud too.
