When Stiles's last class was over Lydia quickly went to him, grabbed his hand, and ran to the music room while holding her violin case. People rarely go to the music room meaning that they had the room all to themselves. Lydia left the door open, the sunlight from the window pouring all over the dark blue floor.
"Alright Stiles I have a theory," Lydia said, looking at Stiles.
"Alright, Stiles replied, "shoot."
"So whenever you play, you said you can't really hear the notes nor the piano right? So what if you just remember what keys to press?" Lydia asked.
Stiles thought about it for a minute, "Hm maybe that could work."
"Alright so I have decided to play Eine kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart in G minor," Lydia got out her violin, "So if you need the music sheet for the piano, I have it."
"Okay," Stiles replied and sat on the piano chair.
Lydia gave him the music sheets for the song and went to get the sheet music stand at the corner, "I'll practice alone at first if you want. Give you time to do whatever you need."
Stiles nodded, "Alright," he looked at the keys then at the sheets over and over again.
Am I really gonna do this? Stiles thought as he pressed one of the piano keys. He could hear the note, thank god he wasn't really deaf.
Lydia had started practicing, playing the song and ignoring the music score an tempo.
I wish I could be like that, Stiles thought, but unfortunately my mother made me into a human metronome.
..................................................
Stiles still didn't touch the piano even after Lydia practiced the song more than once. Lydia looked out the window, the sun was starting to set. Lydia checked her phone and saw that she got a text from Allison.
Hey! Since you and Stiles are busy, is it okay if Scott and I go home? I have to teach him some shit in Chemistry and such.
Lydia replied:
Yeah sure. Have fun with Chemistry ;)
She got a reply within minutes:
Ha ha, anyways how's Stiles?
Lydia looked at Stiles, worried then replied:
Honestly? Not so good.
Lydia walked towards Stiles when she got a reply from Allison:
Oh, just give him time Lydia. He is suffering from psychological trauma after all. I think he's still not over his mother's death.
Lydia bit her lip:
Yeah you're right. Thanks Alli.
Lydia sat next to Stiles, whose head was done, resting on his arms, "Stiles, are you okay?" She asked, placing her hand on his back.
Stiles looked up at her then muttered, "I'm not sure if I can do it."
"Well you're not sure but I am," Lydia replied.
Stiles stared at her, "You're really stubborn."
Lydia smiled and nodded, "Yup. Let's go home, you can try playing at home."
..............................................................
Stiles stared at his piano. It was already late and he still had school tomorrow but Stiles decided that he is going to try and play the damn song. So he sat down, set up the music sheet and started playing.
Stiles was surprised that he could play just fine but then that's when it happened. He was suddenly in the deep blue sea again, the sound disappearing and him drowning. He pressed the keys harder but he failed to hear anything. He stopped, "I-I can't do it dammit!" He shouted, trying to calm his breathing as tears started to build up in his eyes. Stiles sighed and decided to call it a night, falling asleep on his bed.
