Dom's p.o.v.

She's taking it surprisingly well considering what I've just told her. I watched her as she reads from the book deep in concentration. I guess she has known part of it all of her live with the powers she has, but still I thought she would react a bit more than not liking her mate. That made me chuckle, out of everything to be bothered about, that's what she cares about. Maybe I should take her as my mate? That way I could keep her out of trouble. She's only 19 though, 6 years difference might be a bit of a push. Her wolf didn't seem too keen on me either, but then she was sniffing me intrigued. I guess I'm the first Alpha she's met so she would be. She'll have to agree if I do ask then I'd have to tell Jack. I could sense his wolf was close to coming out this morning when we stood on the stairs and she was in her bare form. A shiver ran down me as I remembered her like that. "Does this mean there's more like me?" She asked hopeful looking up from the book. "I doubt it, your kind were around long ago and not many people have what it takes to activate it" I replied shrugging. She must be one hell of a girl to be able to activate something that powerful and it not kill her in the process. I've heard when in wolf form they radiate power and elegance, instead of the normal black or brown fur they have a striking almost blood red, sometimes black tips on their ears and of course the eyes surrounded with a red ring. I longed to see it, but she's not ready. She doesn't know how to yet without blacking out. I'm hoping there's something in the book to help her with that. "I'm just going to nip to the loo" I muttered heading upstairs, I'd tucked her journal away so it was time to put it back where I found it. Going over to the bag everything in the room looked the same as yesterday so I slid it back and left. Heading to the loo I flushed the chain and headed back downstairs. She was holding her hair away from her face as she reads, her foot gently tapping the support beam for the table. She does look beautiful, you can tell she's different just from looking at her.

After a while she stopped, she looks like she read the same part over and over again. "What's wrong?" I asked her frowning, she looked confused. "It's nothing really, just this paragraph says how dangerous we were" she mumbled, her brows furrowing together. I reached out touching her hand trying to soothe her, she won't be anything like those. They were ruthless, but it was mostly as they packed together. "You won't be anything like them, this was ages ago. They haven't been around for centuries" I said softly trying to comfort her, I knew she was thinking about what she's already done but she has to understand that it's not her fault. Getting up I made my way over to her wrapping my arms around her trying to comfort her. At first she was stiff with her arms out in front of her still but she eventually reached up gripping onto my neck hugging me back. Her whole body pressed against mine leaving no space. All I could smell was her intoxicating scent. I could almost feel my wolf coming forward ready to claim. He was lonely, we've been alone for so long now and she's right here in my arms. But she's someone else's, I need to be careful else I'll mark without consent.  I've never been bothered about finding or having a mate, but the more I think about it the more I want her as my mate. At least the elders wouldn't have anything to worry about if she's mine, it'll take a while for her to be able to feel a full mating bond as her wolf has been hidden for so long and her body is rejecting it still, but she'll get there eventually and when she does that's when I'll ask. "Would you like something to eat?" She asked curious, her arms slipped slightly as she started to release me from the hug. "That would be great thank you" I replied calmly knowing I haven't ate properly in days. Giving her some room I returned to the chair opposite her as she got up looking into the fridge pulling out various ingredients. "Is stir fry okay?" She asked turning to me for a second before getting the rest of the ingredients out after I nodded. Watching her start to cook I couldn't help but think about her being my mate, she could come live with me at the house and cook whenever she wants. She wouldn't have to live in an empty house and she could do whatever she likes. She seems like the perfect package, if only I met her before Jack did. He's always been one of the more arrogant pack members, using the fact that he's a strong wolf to his advantages with the ladies. Just because I don't live in the same house as him, doesn't mean I don't know what he's like. He just takes what he wants, sometimes causing conflict with other pack members. "Who was you on the phone with outside?" I asked curious remembering coming up towards her house, seeing her stood outside on her phone showing the house to someone on there, but she went in before I came out. "Oh, just my mom" she replied shrugging, I wonder where she is. She must be lonely here by herself.
