Wills p.o.v
English has never gone so slowly. The tension in the room is thick between Hayley and Jack, her hands gripping the table with so much force I worry it's going to snap under the pressure and his gaze hasn't broke away from her since we walked in. Another 10 minutes and it will all be over, I just hope they can keep it together until then. I feel bad for her, I mean Spencer is acting like the biggest jerk when non of this is her fault. She was human and now she's not and now she's got a mate that she doesn't even understand what that really means. The Alpha went and saw her which must be scary enough and now having to be in the same classroom and resist the mating bond? I don't think I would be able to handle it. I knew when I saw her in the canteen this morning I have to help her, she looked so torn and confused. The first two days she looked so confident and cocky and now she the complete opposite. As soon Mrs Peacock let everyone go she breathed out all the tension from the lesson as we got wrote a warning for being late then she got given the work she needs to catch up on giving me a bit of time to think. We have three more lessons with Jack today... lord have mercy! "We've got a break in between lessons, mind if I go out for a smoke? I didn't have time before I got in" I asked Hayley waiting for her to bring all of her stuff with her. Why hasn't she dumped it in her locker?. "Do you want to drop by your locker first to unload all your books?" I quickly added walking slightly behind her so we could weave between the flow of students. "Do you know where 201 is?" She asked, her voice small. Nodding I took her free hand pulling her through the throng of people before coming to a stop at the second floor lockers, hers would be the third set around near History. Coming around the corner I saw Jack leaning on her locker facing the other way talking to Max, their voices went quieter as I turned the corner with Hayley just behind me, the only thing what kept me from loosing her to the crowd was holding her hand which I quickly let go spotting Jack.
Waiting next to her I could tell she knew he was leaning against her locker, how he knew was anyone's guess as his lockers downstairs. "201" she muttered pretending to look but saying the number loud enough for Jack to hopefully get the hint and walk away but he looked hurt so I doubt he's going to budge. He went ridged as she moved a step closer, his muscles tensed and his eyes stayed locked on her. She was resisting instead looking at the lockers closest to the floor hoping if she itched closer he would move still but she doesn't know him like I do, he will stay there and make her move him if she has to. Clearing my throat he glanced up at me as I shook my head praying he leaves with Max who was watching with interest. A few moments passed before she was at the last small step to her locker, her arm grazed his and a low grumble came out. He's going to loose control if I don't get them both apart now. 'Jack, you need to go' I shouted in his head hoping he would snap out of it but he just growled lowly instead. 'Max, please help him' I said to Max in his head, as he wasn't effected he nodded taking one of Jacks arms in his grip and moving him a few steps away from the locker. Hayley stood frozen staring up at him so I grabbed the key suspended in mid air then her bag dumping it in her locker then locking it back up again. She still wasn't moving so I gently used her arm to move her away slightly. As soon as I touched her Jack snarled not liking my hands on her even if I am trying to help him in the long run. Great. 'Jack I need to get her away before she looses control' I warned him in his head hoping he can see I'm just trying to help. Yes, I find her attractive but she is my brothers mate not mine. His head moved a fraction which I classed as a nod so with more force I started to drag Hayley away. As we turned around the corner she started to walk with me away from him instead of acting like a magnet being pulled in.
By the time we got outside it was well into our next lesson so we decided to chill outside instead. Under the willow tree is always my favourite skipping lesson spot and favourite place to smoke before I have to head back in. Pulling out a Mayfair I used the lighter I found in my jeans this morning to take my first inhale. Hayley sat beside me, her back against the tree and knees pulled up with her arms around them pulling them close. She's lucky to be wearing jeans today else she would be showing a bit too much in the position she's in. She hasn't said a word since we were walking to her locker and I'm started to get a bit worried, I know she has a lot on her plate but she can always talk to me about it. "Will?" She asked finally breaking the silence, her head tilted around the tree to look at me. "Yes Hayley?" I replied curious. "What am I going to do?" She asked suddenly deflating, her head leaning on my shoulder now looking out to the car park. "I honestly can't tell you what to do, I wouldn't even know where to start" I replied honestly. "Is it always going to be like this?" She almost whispered, her chin trembled at the threat of tears. Oh no. Putting my arm around her I hugged her to me hoping to give her a little comfort as she started to cry. I can almost feel her pain from the throbs rocking through her body, she's starting to heat up from not breathing properly. "Hey, hey, you've got to calm down okay? Then we will talk about everything and figure out a plan" I said soothing her with my words until she was calm. "Okay" came her shaky reply.
