The New Girl

Part 22

I walked out the school and was hit by a spine chilling sound of cracking and ripping. I froze. My heart thumped loudly against my chest. I couldn't stop myself from trying to hear more until my body let me move in the direct of the stomach turning sound. I stepped carefully not making a sound as the noise increased the closer I got to the bleachers. I came into the view of five large dogs feeding off a few rabbits and a cat. I watched in marval as the large animals fed off the smaller ones sometimes nudging eachother almost playfully that is until they spotted me.

A small snarl escaped one of the large dog's lips before it was not as playfully nudged to the side by an almost black one. I tried to scream or move, but couldn't . A large brown one came closer to me and finally a scream erupted from my lips and I started to run. Hot tears ran down my cheeks as I reached my black SUV and hoped inside locking the doors and crying with my knee's pulled to me chest.

A light knock on my window broke me out of my hysterics as I looked up seeing Jack's pale face watching me. "What do you want?" I demanded in anger. "Why are you crying?" he asked in a soft tone. I looked at him like he had gone mad and said "Wwwolf!" to shocked to say anything else. Something clicked in Jack's eyes I couldn't register and he demanded "Let me in". I nodded and with shaky hands unlocked my SUV and he instantly opened the door and encased me in his arms and said "Shhh it's okay...everything's going to be okay", but in the back of my mind a nagging feeling of being watched crept over me.
