We finally arrived at our house, my dad repurchased our home from the people he sold it to. I let him know that we could've just purchased another home but he knew how much we all loved our house. It was a beautiful two story traditional home, it was the house I grew up in so I was glad we got to come back to it. The only problem was Jake still lived next door. I looked over to his house, it looked exactly the same. No one was home, my mom told me they were at their beach house till later in the night, I didn't say anything.

We quickly took out all the boxes from our car and all started unpacking, I chose the same room I had when I was younger, it wasn't a large room but it did have its own bathroom which I loved. I had my dad paint it a navy blue color, it was previously a hot pink. All my furniture was already set, I just had to unpack all my things and put them away. I stood in my room and was automatically reminded of all the times that I hung out with my friends. It felt weird, like I was a different person, but I still felt like I was home.

"How are you feeling Mia?" my mom stood right by my door.

I turned to her "I'm good, great actually." I smiled at her.

Her smiled widen "I'm glad Mia, I'm here if you want to talk alright?"

"I know" I quickly gave my mom a hug and continued to unpack my boxes.

My mom and I were always very close, we just became even closer when we moved to Texas. I confided in her a lot, and never felt the need to lie or keep things from her. My mom was all for talking about feelings, probably has to with the fact that she's a psychologist. She reminded me a lot of brother in that aspect. I'm more like my father, closed off.

Just as I was done with the last box, I heard the doorbell rang. I rushed down the stairs knowing exactly who was coming over, I swung the front door open.

"LANDY" I yelled

Landon grinned and pulled me into a tight hug "Mia, I've missed you so much!" I pulled away and looked at him. "You look great Landon!"

He laughed "I just came to see you over the holidays, stop being dramatic" I crossed my arms over my chest. "Well fine then, you look like shit" I playfully said.

He lightly punched my arm "Are you going to let me in?" he smirked. "Of course, idiot come in" I moved out the way and he moved past me into my house.

"Looks exactly the same" he was looking all around our old house "Where are you parents?" he asked

Just then, my mom and dad walked in. My mom pulled him into a hug "Oh Landon, how are you doing, how are your parents?" my mom asked.

Landon hugged my mom back and then did that manly handshake thing with my dad "They're great, they actually wanted me to come over to ask you guys to stop by for dinner next weekend." Landon said

"Of course we will come son, I've been meaning talk to your dad about some business investments" my dad said patting Landon's back.

"Yeah Marie will be there too with Jake so she wanted everyone to come over for a reunion." Landon looked at me. Great.

"Marie told me last night, sounds like fun!" my mom smiled. My mom and dad we're very close to Landon's parents, and my mom was best friends with Jake's mom Marie. They don't really talk to each other about us, and I told my mom a while ago to not tell me anything about Jake. I have trust in my mom to not push me into things, I don't want to talk about. She did tell me that Jake told Marie the same thing, I guess it was for the best.
