I finished up my other classes and finally the last bell rang for the end of my first day. I couldn't wait to go home. I walk towards my car to see Mike, Landon and Jake talking and laughing with each other. "Hey, you ready to go?" I asked Mike. "Actually, I'm going to the diner with Jake and Landon." Mike turned to me. I felt Jakes gaze on me, I didn't want to look at him so I purposely turned away from him. "Did you want to come with us Mia?" Landon asked.
"You don't have to invite her everywhere we go." Jake looked at Landon and crossed his arms over his chest. What is his problem. I turned to glare at him. If I was going to survive being friends with Landon, I had to talk to Jake and clear the air.
"Jake, can I talk to you for a minute?" Landon and Mike look shocked. Jake looked terrified "You want to t-talk to me?" They were being so dramatic, they all looked like I was some crazy serial killer. "Yeah, if thats okay?" I said with the nicest voice I could muster. I was trying to be the bigger person and reach out to him. "Actually, we're running late to meet everybody at the diner." Landon looked at Jake like he could murder him right then and there. "Can we meet up another time to talk?" Jake quickly said. He didn't say it in a sarcastic way so I took it as a good sign. "Sure, whatever. Just let me know." Jake just nodded.
"Just let mom know I'll be home later." Mike said. Landon gave me a quick hug. It was awkward afterwards because I didn't know if I should hug Jake or not. I highly doubt we were there yet. So I just awkwardly waved. "Bye Mia" he said with a smirk. Why the heck is he always smirking. I rolled my eyes and got in my car and headed home.

I got home quickly and rushed inside "Mom, I'm home!" I walked into the kitchen to find a note from my mom letting me know dinner was in the oven and she would be home late. Cool, I loved being around my family but I loved having alone time even more. I dashed up my room, played some music and read my books.
Reading always takes me to another place so I didn't realize a couple of hours had already passed and it was already ten at night. I decided to shower and get ready for bed. After my shower I did some homework and realized that Mike hadn't came home yet. I quickly texted him.
Me : Everything good? When are you getting home?
Mikey: Good. Out with the guys, I think I'll be home late heading to a party. That cool?
I didn't really feel comfortable with Mike hanging out with all the football guys but if Landon was with him, I'm sure he would be fine. Who am I to judge really?
