We pulled up to the entrance to the carpet, paparazzi already flashing pictures before the driver could even get out to open our doors. I always let Jack J and Jack get out first- they deserve the most attention. I was immediately blinded by flashing lights and questions being yelled from all directions. Once I could finally adjust my eyes and see where I was going, I noticed a few weird looks from the people around me. People were even gasping.
"Jack." I nudged.
"What?" He whispered.
"Is there something wrong with my dress? Is something malfunctioning?" I questioned. Both of the Jacks looked me up and down, confused why I was even asking the question.
"No, you're good. You look gorgeous. Don't worry." Jack kissed me on the cheek as hundreds of cameras flashed before me.
I could hear a few reporters yelling things at me, something to do with my dress, but I couldn't tell what they said.
Once we finally exited the entrance part, I started recognizing people inside of the social gala. Everyone's eyes were on me. People looked shocked. Jack now started to question.
"Um, is everything alright?" He raised his eyebrow at me.
I nervously whispered. "Everyone keeps staring at me and my dress and I don't know why."
He looked me up and down once again. "I don't understand, you look gorgeous. Nothing's wrong."
I put my head down as we headed to a heavenly white silky-clothed table to grab champagne. I felt really uncomfortable as people whispered around me.
I looked down at my dress, viewing the sparkles in the light of the chandelier above us. It looks incredible, and maybe that's why people are staring? I can't think of another reason. I'm not over dressed. I'm not underdressed. I look fine, so what's the big deal?
Shawn made his way down the marble covered steps and down to Jack and Jack and I.
"Hey!" I exclaimed, giving him a hug. I looked over his shoulder at Ryan Secrest, staring me up and down. What is going on?
Shawn greeted Jack and Jack.
"Shawn?" I whispered into his ear.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Is there something wrong with my dress? Take a look." I casually spun in a little circle as he watched. He widened his eyes.
"What?!?" I looked at him.
"Nothing's wrong, Paige. You look incredible." He shrugged.
"Thank you.." I smiled a little. "It's just that everyone keeps whispering and staring and it's making me really nervous."
Barbara came running up to me with a worried look on her face. "Paige." She looked me in the eye.
"What?!?" I asked.
"Look." She pointed towards the front of the gala, where I recognized someone. She was wearing the same exact dress as me, being interviewed by a bunch of cameras.
That's Ayana Bliss. The head of music and fashion and all things known to us. The one who was looking forward to seeing my dress.
And we're wearing the same one.
