Chapter 4

Derek went back to the table and waited as Meredith took the kids to get their lunch. she wasn't by any means a salad eating water drinking kind of girl, she loved her nuggets, and chocolate milk, curly fries, but she also felt uncomfortable pigging out in front of Derek so she grabbed a water last minute "to balance it out". Lexie got Dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and a side of ripe juicy grapes with Apple juice. Mark ,to her surprise got a Caesar salad with raspberry ice tea. He was a health freak.... Like Derek she thought to herself. She smiled inwardly .

When she paid she sat down at the table where she saw Derek when she first forgot the kids. Then she noticed -very late- that Derek was no where to be found. Her spirits were crushed.

After a few minutes she casually looked at the cafeteria entrance door to see a furious Derek walk in. Hatred in his eyes. It took all she had not to get up and kiss him senselessly. When Derek saw Meredith his expression immediately softened. When he got to the table Meredith saw the first to speak

"Hey, er...uhh is everything okay ? U look like you could kill a bitc...... Person ." She stuttered. Derek smiled at her almost slip. However she was correct he had punched a wall on the way back form a very heated conversation with Maddison (ex-wife)
