Chapter 1

"I’ll kill myself!" I declared.

"Taylor, calm the hell down."

"Here I go... I'm goin’ to end it all right now!" I reach over and grabbed the first thing my hands landed on and held it over my head.

“You can’t kill yourself with a lamp.” My mom said as she sat down rubbing her temples. It’s not my fault that the most dangerous thing around me was a lamp. Even still, I wasn’t going to give this up.

" Hmm.... why don't we find out!"

"Cut the drama Taylor... you're going and that's final. I already paid." She said with a look.

"And you never bothered to talk to me about it. You never once thought, maybe Taylor doesn’t want to go! Maybe Taylor might want to come with me to Seattle!” I let the lamp fall to the floor. It didn’t break so it might have killed me or at least put me in a coma.

"The last thing your aunt needs is another teenager moping around her house!" I could really care less about what my aunt needed right now. She just continued packing.

"But why?! I mean, I could have stayed at Tiffany’s house, or somewhere, anywhere else but Camp?!"

"I don't see why going this is such a big deal!"

"Do you not remember what happened last time! You can’t make me go back there!”

“I doubt if anyone will remember! You are going Taylor, and that is final! That money is non-refundable and I can't afford losing that right now. I wish you'd cooperate with me during a family crisis like this!" My mom snapped her suitcase shut. This discussion was clearly over. Nothing I could have said or did would prevent the horrible summer that I was expecting.

And that was how I, Taylor Carpenter, got stuck in Camp DaRango for the entire summer.

***************************

So here I am a week later, in front of the giant metal death bus.

Goodbye cruel world . I thought.

I stepped into the bus. The bus driver, an old drunken-looking man, asked me for my pass. I handed him my  camp identification sheets.

"Right then... uhh Miss Caperndurr..." He slurred. I really don’t think its safe for him to be driving.

"It's Carpenter." I corrected him.

"Innat whot I said?"

I rolled my eyes and sighed. This was going to be a long, very long ride. I looked around for a seat and saw that only a few  kids were here already. Many of them had their pillows and blankets out and were happily sleeping in their seats. I picked a seat towards the front of the bus and threw my duffel bags into the overhead compartment. I unpacked just a pillow and snuggled in my seat. Hours passed by as many more kids filed into the tour bus and it soon filled up to almost full capacity. But I didn't have noticed all that... I was happily sleeping.

**********************

"Dude... is she awake?" I hear a faint voice said but I could care less because the sleep is so good.

"No...I don't think she is..."

"Poke her, man." I opened my eyes and saw some random guy about to poke me. "What the hell?!" I jumped up in my seat. Sitting next to me was a tall, lanky guy with brown hair that was spiked up messily.

"You're awake!"

"No shit." I muttered.

"Yeah.... all the seats are full...I figured it was okay to sit here till you're awake. So can I still sit here or what?"
