Chapter 7
"Shh... stop laughing Taylor! You're going to wake everyone up," Ashyr hushed.
"Sorry... I can't help it. I'm excited..."
Ashyr peeked out of the bush and watched for counselors on the move. He motioned for me to come when the coast was clear. I grabbed the furiously wriggling sack and followed Ashyr as he crept slowly in the darkness.
"Ow... that was my foot!"
"Sorry babe..."
"For the millionth time, stop calling me that!"
"Shh!"
He slowly crept up to the cabin and pulled up the window. Everyone was sleeping, all of them were inside their sleeping bags and blankets and soundly asleep. He pushed the window up more so he could squeeze through it.
The window went up a little, but then got jammed. An irregularly placed nail was the problem. Ashyr tugged at the nail, but it seemed firmly tapped in place.
"Shit the window's jammed! I can't go through there."
"The plan's ruined!" I whined.
"I can't go in... but maybe you can."
"Me?!" I squeaked. I looked at the window-space and saw it ridiculously small, even for me to fit through. I mean, I’m not that skinny, was I? "Ashyr, are you joking? I can't fit through that!"
"Trust me, you can. You're not that big in width all around. It's just perfect-- suck it in and go."
"Look, maybe this isn't such a good idea..."
"I've got your back, babe. You won't get caught," he gave me a reassuring smile. "But even if you do, I'll swear on my life that you were sleepwalking."
A sudden feeling of nervousness hit my gut. My blood pumped fearfully... this wasn't a good idea.
But, it would be the ultimate payback. I took a moment to contemplate the consequences. How would anyone find out it was you? If I was quiet enough, I could get away with it. And the reward would be priceless. In a momentary decision, I gently threw the sack through the window hole and was ready to go in.
"Okay... help me up."
He boosted me up and I wriggled my way in. I was halfway through and could see everyone inside, sleeping innocently and completely oblivious to what was happening. I was almost all the way through, wriggling in and pushing forward as hard as I could. I did this for almost a whole minute and a half... till it hit me.
I wasn't moving forward anymore. I was stuck. “Ashyr help!" I said as loud as I could without waking anyone.
"Damn, this is the disadvantage with girls with big asses--"
"Ashyr! Shut up and help me!!" He immediately went for the window, trying to push it up more. But, it wouldn't budge. The nail wouldn't slant or move. It was firmly in place.
"Well. Since I don't have any grease conveniently with me to pull you out, I'm just going to do this the hard way..."
"No, no! Not the hard way!"
He suddenly grabbed my legs and pulled. Pain shot through my back. I would have screamed, but that would have woken everyone up. I whimpered in pain.
"Stop it!!" I hissed.
"I'm trying to get you out!"
"No... You're trying to rip me in half!" He gave a sigh of frustration. He stopped, pacing forward for a moment. I took a deep breath calming myself down.
Suddenly, without warning, I felt his hands on my ass. He pushed me with so much force that I tumbled into the room and fell on the ground.
I lay still on the floor... I was sure someone would have woken up at that noise. I was sure I had woken someone up... I pressed my body against the dusty floor hard, hoping I wasn't silhouetting myself too much.
I heard someone shift in their bunk. But, other than that, nobody woke up. I sighed softly with relief.
God Ashyr! I'm going to have to beat you with a stick later...
I slowly and carefully opened the sack.
As soon as I opened it, I turned back for the window. I climbed out of it, thrusting myself with full force through.
Within moments, I had somehow managed to get myself out... partially because Ashyr kept pulling me violently. Once the deed was done, we both ran quietly in the night, cackling evilly inside at our childish, yet oh-so-rewarding prank...
I could only imagine how our prank will play out.
Brigitte sleeping in her bunk, completely unaware of anything in the rest of the world except her own dreams. She turned to her side, feeling a little uncomfortable. Her entire body felt itchy and hot. She felt something tug on her ears. It started hurting... really badly. She flailed her arms, still half asleep. Then something sharp scratched her face.
She opened her eyes, and what she saw horrified her. She was face to face with two beady little black eyes. She gave a blood curling scream of horror that rang through the camp.
She starting pushing the creature off of her, her face contorted with pure terror. The animal kept crawling on her and batted its paw at her face. She screamed and violently fought with the creature, trying to throw it off of her. The animal crept crawling up and starting pulling at her earrings.
She beat at the animal, still screaming. The animal was so persistent that it kept attacking her ears. She screamed in horror and jumped out of her bed. Unfortunately for her, she had made a jump off of the top bunk.
Her face broke her fall.
Soon, everyone in the cabin was awake. Someone turned on the lights and much to everyone's surprise, there was a raccoon in the cabin. The frenzied creature attacked Brigitte relentlessly. She ran away from the raccoon, screaming like a banshee. The raccoon, deciding that this was a lost case, ran into an empty bag of chips.
After finally realizing what was going on, the girls in the room started screaming hysterically as the raccoon became more and more violent in its attempt to get out. It ran over chips bags, over bunks, on top of shoes, knocking over coke cans, into the laundry basket, and then out the open window. One of the guys ran over to the window and banged it shut. But the raccoon was merely an opening act the real act was Brigitte, bawling at the top of her lungs.
And what was more beautiful were the four little scratch marks across her face. The four marks that will constantly remind her that when you're an evil bitch... you'll get attacked by a crazy raccoon.
I felt someone shaking me crazily."Taylor Carpenter! Wake up!"Without thinking, I reached out my arm and slapped the nearest thing. Unfortunately, it was Ashyr.
I opened your eyes and saw Ashyr with a giant stinging red mark on his face."Damn Taylor, is that how you always greet people in the morning?" he said, rubbing his cheek.
"Sorry... I usually--hey wait, what're you doing on my bunk?! And where's Kerri?"
"She's showering. But anyway, I woke you up to tell you to keep your mouth shut about last night.... okay? No one except for Jared and Kerri knows."
"Why didn't you tell Liam and Joel?"
"Because they would've kicked my ass if they found out. No one knows, so you'll keep it that way. Understood? Deny everything."
"Deny everything... got it," I waved him off.
"If someone asks you if you set the raccoon loose, what will you say?"
"I will say, What is this 'raccoon' you speak of?"
He growled in frustration. "Fine, just don't say anything. Got me?"
I nodded contentedly and then pushed him off of me. "And next time, don't wake up me up..."
"Trust me," he groaned, jumping off of my bunk, "I won't."
