Calum's POV
I sat on the phone with Indie. As soon as I found out it was her I walked out of ear shot from the rest of the band. I especially didn't want Michael to know. I knew exactly how to handle the situation. I stood talking with Indie looking at Michael. I knew it is what he wanted more than anything. Not because he liked her but because he enjoyed her presence.
As the call ended I headed back to the group. I was instantly questioned by them. I told them it was nothing. Whether they believed me or not was another story. Michael pulled me aside to talk.
"So what was that about? You seem off."
"It was just my mom she had a few questions to ask me. Promise Michael. Everything's good." I smiled to reassure him.
"Okay Calum."
I had a small conversations with him and headed off to take care of Indie's situation. I knew it probably seemed off that I disappeared for a bit but I needed to do it.
I found our manager and spoke with him. There was no way I myself could go to the box office with fans already at the stadium.
"You know that girl that was here at your last show?"
"The one Michael bought in that he wasn't supposed to? Yes."
"Well he left a damn note on her car telling her to come to another show. She's on her way."
"How'd she get a hold of you?"
"I might have let her use my phone. She's not a fan though. I mean everyone sees it. She can't stand fangirls. If it weren't for the company she probably wouldn't even be coming right now. By company I mean Michael asking her to come. Either way I told her to stop by the box office and pick up things."
"You know you aren't supposed to do this."
"Would you like happy Michael or sad Michael?"
"Happy obviously."
"Then it's happening. So plan is she's VIP meet and greet. She'll act her way through everything. None of the guys know. Don't tell them either. We will pull her off without people knowing and then she'll stay back stage with us like last time."
"Name."
"Indie Callingsworth."
"Callingsworth?" My manager looked at me puzzled.
"Yes?"
"Like Blakely and Indie Callingsworth."
"Um I don't know."
"Show me her." I was confused and pulled out my phone. Her Twitter stuck out in my mind so I pulled it up. I clicked her profile picture and showed it to my manager.
"She's a Callingsworth for sure. You didn't hear what happened to her sister a few months back?"
"I'm lost."
"Her sister was an actress. They were on their way home from a party. Indie was driving and they got into an accident. Blakely was killed." My mouth dropped. How could someone act like she did when something like that so recently happened?
"Shit."
"I've got things covered don't worry." He walked off and I stood there in shock. I wasn't really sure how to handle all the information. I couldn't let it affect my day though. I couldn't let anyone find out either. No one should treat someone different based on their history. People would feel sorry for her and clearly it wasn't what she wanted.
We, the band, got ready for the meet and greet. I had Indie in the back of my head the whole time. Not the new information, but how much I knew her showing up would change the night.
We went through a bunch of fans and I kept waiting for Indie's face to appear. I scanned the lane every shot I could. My eyes finally found her. None of the boys had noticed. She smiled the instant my eyes landed on her.Indie's POV
I walked up to the box office. Nerves were running through my body. I was worried about Michael's pass being seen and being caught. All of these things had my heart racing but I was ready to get the night started.
"I have to pick up passes or something. I was told to just tell you my name. Indie Callingsworth."
The person looked down at a piece of paper in front of them. They glanced between the paper and me a few times.
"This is for you." I was handed a bunch of papers and a lanyard somewhat like Michael's. "Make sure you have this on at all times." I nodded but knew as soon as I got with the boys I was switching over to Michael's.
"Thank you. Have a great night." I said smiling at the worker. I had become so accustom to saying it for work that it always flowed so naturally in conversations. I hated when someone didn't say it to me. So I always made sure to do it.
"You too!" The lady smiled at me and I walked off following people who had the same passes as I did.
I didn't know where I was going or what I was doing. It was obviously a very different situation from the first time. I had to work for what I got this time. It was alright. Anything to get me away from my parents was worth it.
I waited in line for what felt like ages. It was probably only like a half hour but I was getting antsy. I just wanted the night to start. I didn't want to keep replaying the fight with my mom in my head. Which I had been doing the entire ride.
I finally got close enough to see the guys and I stared. I watched them carefully interact with each fan. Finally Calum looked over. His eyes landed on me and I smiled causing him to smile back. I had finally made it.
I couldn't let the others see me so I kept my face hidden. I also had to blend in. Which meant becoming 'friends' with other fans in line. My sister being an actress taught me well. It is exactly what I did to make my way through the wait.
"So who is your favorite!?"
"I mean how can you really choose?" I tried to act like a fangirl.
"You're one of those girls."
"I mean Michael is so nice. Calum is a sweetheart. Ashton's not afraid to voice his opinion. And Luke is just Luke." I used Michael's 'I'm no Luke Hemmings' comment to my advantage.
"Next!" I heard as I turned around to realize I was being called. My eyes landed on Michael. I didn't want to look away. I felt my heart race in excitement. I ran over and hugged everyone except Michael.
"You don't deserve a hug." I said looking at Michael.
"Fuck you." He smirked pulling me in for a hug. It was a tight hug that was rocked in.
"You wanted me here so here I am. Thank Mister Calum." I said looking over at him.
"Get your acting on Miss Indie Callingsworth." Calum said.
I put on a huge smile and stood for a group photo. It was something they did at meet and greets so I had to do it.
"Thanks for coming Indie."
"Ready for some stand up acting?" I smirked. "3.. 2.. 1.." I was about to make a fool of myself. I fell backwards and pretended to faint. I was smart enough to fall in the direction of the guys. I had to keep my head safe. Commotion obviously broke out. Everyone was informed of my act before hand so I was pulled aside while the rest of the meet and greet happened.
Fans on the other hand were eating it up. They were all worried and scared. I heard some girls gasping. Others were laughing. I mean I would be one to laugh as well. What embarrassing person faints at the sight of a person they like? That's just a personal opinion though. I just think that's something super embarrassing to do.
After I was taken away from the guys and the situation was handled I was taken off to their dressing room to wait for them. There wasn't many people behind me in line so I knew it wouldn't be long.
So much can happen in that time though. In my life nothing seems to be quite normal. Everything can turn in an instant and that is exactly what happened. My phone went off with a text message. It was no other than Kate.
"Look familiar?" The text said. Attached was a photo of the stadium I was standing in. I felt my face getting hot. I had to think quick on my feet. I couldn't get caught up in a lie.
"No? Is it suppose to?"
"I mean it should." She sent me a screenshot of the available Wi-Fi's. Kates a fucking whore was on the screen. Right below that was Indies the biggest whore. The time at the top was just a minute before. She was here and I had no idea what to say. "Explain." My phone buzzed with this text from her.
"My mom and I got into a fight I wanted to get out of here and clear my head. I heard about this on the radio while driving around in my car and here I am."
"Then I guess I can join you since I'm here too."
"No."
"Why's that Indie?"
"I only have one seat."
"Good thing I have two we can sit together." She sent me a photo of two tickets.
"No. I like my seat."
"Your mom told me everything Indie. I know you are with the band. How the hell else do you think I got here? No way was I going to a stupid concert 2 hours away. I came because your mother told me you'd be here."
"Well you can't be here so you shouldn't have come."
"So Indie always gets everything. Looks like I found out your secret."
"Yeah and it's one I wish was only mine." I turned off my phone and threw it at the wall as Michael and the band walked into the room.
