Ticked off, Sang cracked her knuckles on both hands. A lot of people she knew found it irritating to no end, but she found it cathartic. She stood on the edge of the parking lot, pissed off at her predicament, and didn't even want to think about what would happen if they caught her again this time. She stalked into the parking lot and sunk into the shadows, scanning the area. 5 cars resided in total - minus hers obviously, or rather, the Academy's. Two streetlights poorly lit the surrounding area. She could hardly make out anything beyond the parking lot. Chewing her lip, she thought about what to do. Go back inside and wait? For what? She thought, the car to magically turn up? She knew there was a bus stop a mile or so away, but what if the person or people who stole the car turned up and ambushed her? It was a chance she was willing to take. She had learnt some killer moves which she'd regularly practiced with Matt... Matt! She could ring Matt! Fumbling in her pocket, she tore out the phone, immediately dialling his number and hoping he'd pick up. He picked up after the third ring."Hello? Sang?" He asked.
"Matt? Matt! Yes, it's me." She replied
"Sang?!" he shouted into her ear. Sang winced, pulling the phone away slightly from her face.
"Yeah, it's me." She said, softly.
"What- where the hell have you been? What's been going on?"
"You got my text, right?"
"You mean the one where you said 'Hey it's me Sang, I'm fine and I'll talk to you soon.'? What the hell Sang! You've been AWOL for days on end! You'd better explain what's happening right now or I'll... Screw it, we're supposed to be partners, Sang!" She heard the pain in his voice and the deep exhale after his rant. Relief that she'd finally called?
"Look. I'm fine - sort of. Could you come get me?" She gave him the location of the motel.
"Sure. How did you get there in the first place?"
"It's... a long story."
"Well, we've got time. I'll be there as soon as I can. Hang in there. And Sang?"
"Yeah?"
"Stay safe."
"Always."
