Chapter 17. New years eve flop.

*time skip from Christmas to New Year's Eve *

Tonight Charlie was taking me to a new years eve part that Leo was holding. Im not really one for big crowded spaces but Charlie pestered and pestered me before i agreed, and he may have used his puppy dog eyes so i couldn't say no.

"Luna Charlie's here." My mother called up the stairs
"Ok, I'll be right there." i called down, pulling my beanie onto my head.
"Luna, hey." Charlie exclaimed.
"Hey."
Charlie was wearing black skinny jeans, a loose light blue t-shirt, a black zip up hoodie and nike trainers. i was wearing ripped skinny light blue jeans a tight black and white checked shirt and black converses, oh and my beanie.
"You ready to go?" Charlie asked taking my hand in his.
"Yeh, lets go. Bye mum."
"Bye, have fun at the party."
"We will." Charlie called back.

we arrived at the party, it was in a massive barn in the middle of nowhere.

"Here we are." charlie smiled.
"Wow, this place is huge." i exclaimed.
"Luna. its soo good to see you." Leo said, pulling me into a strong hug.
"mmph. Good to see you to Leo." 
"Little tight bro, your squishing her." Charlie said.
"Ah, sorry." Leo blushed.
"Its ok."
"Ill go get you guys some drinks." Leo said walking away.

"Charlie!" A girls voice called from behind
"Oh, Emily, i didn't know you were coming." Charlie said to the girl that must have been Emily.
"Yeh, Leo invited me and when i heard you were going to be here i couldn't refuse." Emily smiled.
"Oh, wow." Charlie stuttered.
"What? You really think id miss a chance to see you again? ha ha, anyway ill see you later." Emily said with a smile, walking away.
"W-who was that?"
"Hu, oh that was just, an old friend." Charlie
"Here you go guys." Leo handed us each a drink filled with a sweet pink liquid.
"Thanks." i said whilst taking a drink off him, charlie taking the other.
"Yeh, thanks." Charlie said, slightly spaced out.
"You, ok Charlie." Leo asked.
"Hm, Oh yeh im good." Charlie replied still spaced out a little.
"Really?" Leo
"Yeh. I'll see you guys in a bit, there's something i need to do." Charlie said walking off into the crowd.
"O..kay. bye then." i said to his back as he diapered.
"What was that all about?" Leo asked.
"Not, a, clue." I said taking a glug of my drink.

"Charlie, hey." Emily.
"Hey, Emily listen. HEY!!" someone walked into Charlie, spilling his drink on the floor.
"Oh no, let me get you another drink." Emily said taking Charlies cup.
"No, you really don't, have, to." Charlie.

"Here, a fresh cup." Emily handed Charlie a cup of juice.
"Thanks." Charlie said, taking the cup and taking a sip. "Woh, whats in this? It tastes different."
"Oh, they just put some new punch out so its a different one than before." Emily smiled.
"Oh, well, its good." Charlie said taking a large gulp.
"Glad you like it." Emily

"You seen Charlie?" Leo asked.
"Nope, not since when he left earlier." I sighed.
"Sigh. so much for coming to a party with your boyfriend." Leo half smiled.
"Yeh, just makes the hole party thing worse."
"Why? Well besides that lack of boyfriend sightings ha ha." Leo chuckled.
"I don't really like party's, or any big, crowded space. Not really my thing."
"Yeh, i can see that." Leo smiled.
"Yeh. You know i think im going to go look for Charlie."
"You want me to come with you?" Leo asked.
"Nah, ill be fine." And with that i walked of into the crowd.

Where could he be, I've searched the entire barn and couldn't see him anywhere. And then I saw, I saw what I was hoping would never happen. Charlie, he was kissing that Emily girl. How could he do this, how could he do this to me?

"Charlie." I cried. "How could you do this?" Tears formed in the corners of my eyes.
"Luna, it's not what it looks like." Charlie stammered.
"Oh really, then what is it?" I said glaring at him.
"It's well." Charlie struggled.
"Just what I thought." I spat.
"Aww, don't cry. You should be happy for him, Charlie's happy. You don't want to take that away from him do you?" Emily said taking Charlie's hand in hers, an evil glint in her eye.
At that moment I walked up to him, looked him in the eyes and said "I hope your happy." Through gritted teeth. I then did something I never thought I'd do, I brought my hand up high in the air and with a swift motion and a loud snap I slapped him across one cheek, quickly turning on my heal and walking away.

"Luna, did you. Hey, are you ok." Leo asked, his voice full of concern.
"Yeh, I'm fine. I just need to go home. I'll see you later." Saying this I tried to walk away but Leo grabbed my arm, preventing me from leaving. "Leo let go of me." I struggled to get his hand off.
"Luna, you can't walk home, it's miles." Leo.
"I don't care, I need to leave." Tears started to spill down my cheeks.
"Luna, come here." Leo pulled me into a gentle hug. Allowing me to cry into him. "What happened?" Leo asked stroking my hair gently.
"Snif, it doesn't matter." I said into his chest.
"Your crying so it obviously does." Leo said, his voice warm as he wiped away my tears with the sleeve of his hoodie.
"I'm fine, I, just need to go home." I mumbled.
"Ok, if your sure you don't want to talk about it. I'll take you home." Leo, worry still spread on his face.
"Thanks." I smiled half heartedly.

*small time skip*

Leo and I were curled up in little balls on the sofa, my eyes still puffy from crying.
"You didn't have to leave you own party for me, I could have just called my mom."
"Don't worry about it, I couldn't let you go on your own like that. And plus it was boring." Leo smiled, playing with a tuft of my hair.
"He he, bored at your own party, that's not good and thanks." I giggled, cuddling in closer to him, wrapping his hoodie around me tighter which he had lent me in the car home.
"It's ok. Never really like New Years party's, they just don't feel the same, y'know." Leo smiled.
"Mmm." I hummed.
Before I knew it my eyes grew heavy.
"Sleep baby girl." Leo whispered.
Soon enough I was asleep, warm in Leo's embrace. I felt safe.
