Chapter 6:
All night I would occasionally check my phone to see if Rylan responded.
Nothing.
Great now she hates me even more.
Claire, don't expect her to sit with Clyde and you.
I dragged myself out of bed being sleepier than usual due to the lack of sleep and changed into something simple.
A pair of jean shorts with a navy blue t shirt and black converse.
I braided my hair into a side braid and put my makeup on.
When I walked downstairs my mom was already gone but left a note on the counter.
Make sure to eat breakfast today you have a dance boot camp after school I'll be picking you up.
-Love Mom
I sighed I totally forgot about the dance boot camp.
It's just a 5 hour camp after school that last till about 10...at night.
I grabbed a yogurt and an apple and sat down at our empty kitchen table.
I didn't finish my yogurt but I finished my apple and grabbed my dance bag, water bottle, backpack and my lunch.
I began walking to school and for the first time in awhile I felt like my true self.
I didn't have to worry about following Kelsey around, I officially had a new lunch spot, the only part that still bugged me is that Clyde and I still can't be seen in public together.
I was at my locker when Eric the schools biggest gamer walked up to me.
"Claire right?"
I smiled and nodded "yup that's me."
"I just want to thank you now that the blog is down I haven't been teased since Tuesday."
I smiled "no problem but I didn't end it Rylan did."
"Yeah but thanks to you she finally stopped posting." I shrugged
"I guess."
He patted my back and walked off.
Woah ok I just met Eric and he's nothing like I imagined and he didn't have a single device on him.
I smiled watching him walk away and for the first time in a couple days he wasn't bumping Into walls or people.
Maybe this whole "changing the school" thing was actually good.
After gym I walked around the halls and didn't see Rylan once, I noticed the boy she's always hanging out with, sitting by his locker reading.
I walked up to him "Hi I'm Claire."
He looked up and marked his spot in his book "Emmery Green."
"I've noticed you hanging out with Rylan in the past do you have any idea where she might be?"
He shook his head "not a clue, she didn't show up today that's all I know."
"Ok thank you." I said walking off.
Please tell me she didn't skip school because of me... Ugh Claire you were to mean!
The halls were empty because everyone was at lunch which today was outside.
I walked into the library and saw Clyde sitting while writing.
"Whatcha writing?" I asked
"My script for my short film."
"Oh can I read it?" I said while sitting next to him.
"I would let you but I want to make sure it's perfect for when you read it." He said tucking his paper into his folder.
"Ok I guess I can wait."
He smiled "So what are you doing today after school?"
"Dance boot camp." I rolled my eyes
He laughed "I thought you love dance?"
"I do but a 5 hour boot camp is torturous. What are you doing after school?"
"Film club."
I nodded "I'll be right back, I'm gonna go outside to go find something"
He nodded while pulling his paper out and started writing again.
I began walking outside and noticed Kelsey tumbling across the grass while people cheered her on.
I shook my head and noticed only a few gamers playing on there device and the others actually eating.
I then looked across the street and saw Rylan.
She immediately ran off.
I sighed is she still mad?
I walked back inside and back into the library.
"Did you find what you were looking for?"
Clyde asked.
"Yes and no."
The bell rang and I told Clyde bye and he said good luck at boot camp.
I walked to my final class which was a free period.
When school was finally over I grabbed my stuff and walked outside and waited for my mom.
Jordan passed me and said "our science report is due tomorrow!"
Great Claire Tucker has officially forgotten another important thing.
I hopped into the car and actually had a conversation with my mom for the first time since Monday.
"Hey did you eat breakfast?"
"Yes mom and some lunch."
"Good I don't need you passing out in the middle of a pirouette."
"Don't worry."
She kissed my forehead and dropped me off.
I walked in to be greeted by Scott warming up.
"You asked couch about that solo right?"
Shoot...
"No not yet but I will today."
"Good because you deserve that solo." He looked at me for a moment "what's wrong?"
"Nothing just lots on my mind."
"Like?"
"Science reports, dance solos, dance boot camp, my grades, and my whole social life."
"Woah my little dancer has a lot more on her mind than I thought."
I smiled when he used my nickname he's been calling me for awhile now.
"Yes she does."
"Come on let's go start practicing."

It's 10 pm and I just finished my final dance of the night.
I was out of breath and starving.
My mom was waiting outside in the lobby for me.
We drove home and the whole time I felt like I was either gonna pass out or throw up.
When I got home my mom had already made me a plate of lasagna with broccoli.
I swear I ate the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.
I marched my way upstairs and opened my email and emailed my dance teacher.
I would like to inform you that I would like to audition for the solo in the final song in the winter showcase.
-Claire
After that I took a shower and began working on the science report.
I almost finished when out of nowhere my eyelids got droopy and before I knew it I was sleeping at my desk with an unfinished report under me.
