Chapter Ten

Sammy

I sat on my bed wondering if my actions the day before had ruined my friendship with Aiden and if what I did made him hate me.
*Flashback*

I pushed Aiden away and quickly got up, running out the door. I could hear Aiden running after me telling me to stop. I had no reason to leave, in fact, I actually liked kissing Aiden-what am I saying? That is a problem! I kissed my best friend who is a guy and I actually liked it. I continued to run until I reached Aidens front door, swinging it open hard and dashing in a random direction away from Aidens house, leaving him in the dust.
*End of Flashback*

I know that what I did hurt him. How could it not? Just the other day he confessed his feelings for me and a few days later I kiss him and run away. I didn't want to hurt him. I just wanted to find out how I felt about him before anything happened.

I shook my head to try and clear my head but it only seemed to give me a headache. I reached over and grabbed my phone off of my bedside table and saw that the time was 12:54 PM. I was debating on wether or not I should call Aiden and apologize or if I should hust leave it alone until we can talk about it in person. Now I've decided to choose the latter because he always goes to sleep at 10:00 PM.

The next day at school I avoided Aiden as much as I could, trying to delay the inevitable conversation that I wasn't quite ready for yet. At least I was avoiding him until seventh period, English.

"Okay. Today we are starting a new partner assignment." Our teacher, Mr. Harlen informed us. "I've already decided on who's gonna work with who so stop the chatter."

"What's the assignment?" A girl named Vanity (the ironic thing? She's not vane at all) asked.

"Thank you Miss Clark. I was just getting to that. Now, your assignment is to write your partner a love peom." Mr. Harlen said.

"Ugh, but that's so boring." Some random kid in the back of the class groaned.

"Well if you don't want to do it then I'll bw happy to give you an F for the whole year." Mr. Harlen responded.

"Sir, who are our partners?" A familiar voice asked. I looked over to see that it was Aiden who had spoken.

"Well Aiden, your partner is Sammy." Mr. Harlen said. I just looked at him in disbelief. "The assignment is due in a weeks time. Have it done by then or you get an automatic F." I was still in shock at how bad my luck was.

Mr. Harlen

I looked into Sammy's eyes as he learned that he and Aiden would be working together. It was obvious that the two boys liked each other more than platonically, I was just trying to get their relationship started up as fast as possible but Sammy's eyes showed fear. Almost as if he were afraid to work with Aiden but it was gone as quickly as it showed up.

As I read the rest of the groups to the class I wondered why Sammy would be afraid to work with Aiden. They were best friends and always did everything together. It might have been the fact that it's a love peom that they have to write but Sammmy's eyes showed more.

Just as I finished reading the list of names the bell rung, signalling the end of the period, and everyone started to pack up and leave.

"Hey Sammy, could you wait for a second?" I asked the boy.

"Um, ya sure I guess." Sammy said with a confused tone.

I waited until Sammy and I were alone in the room to speak. "Do you want me to switch your partner?"

"Umm, no why?" The boy asked.

"Cuz I saw the look on your face when I told you that he was your partner. You looked almost scared. And don't try to tell me that I didn't see anything because I know you Sammy. I'm your uncle that has raised you since you were a baby!" I told him.

"It's nothing you need to worry about ok." Sammy said, trying to console me.

"Fine, I won't try to help you with this." I told him.

"What do you mean? Help me with what?" Sammy asked.

"With your crush on Aiden obviously." I told him.
