-2008-

The drunken boy... Man stood there drink in his hand, swaying a little to the soft music playing in the background last he remembered Al had put on the Beatles but what song he was even swaying too now escaped him, he had a hard time producing any coherent thoughts at the moment. His dark haired counterpart was sitting cross legged on the bed, looking at a stack of records he had purchased earlier, nodding along to the song. Miles stared deeply at the young man sitting on the bed, his brow fused as he stared at the vintage paper sleeve in his hand lyrics written on both sides. "You look beautiful, Al." Miles slurred, coming closer to his friend.  "You better cool it with the Vodka, Miles." Alex said for playfully, rather than warningly.  "Oi, come on, Alex. Live a little bit, won't cha." Alex simply smirked to himself at Miles behaviour and continued looking at his records.  Miles didn't feel satisfied by Alex's lack of attention to him anymore and took his phone from the hotel's dresser and walked outside onto the patio, stumbling over the little rise in concrete. He managed not to spill his drink before plopping himself down on a plastic outdoor chair. He searched through his phone contact list, before coming near to the end, seeing her name spelled out in blank, black letter. His thumb drunkenly hovered over the 'call' button before his instincts took over and he hit the button bringing her name up in bolder letters as the phone began to ring.

A groggy voice answered from the other end of the telephone. "Hello, Miles?"

"Suzie, I miss you." Was all he could blurt out, and in his state of drunkenness that seemed like the right thing to say. Miles could hear Alex playing a record from inside the hotel room, something different than the Beatles. "Why are you calling me, Miles?" Miles felt a bit taken back by her question, but the pieces didn't quite fit together in his brain right now. "I miss you, you should come see The Last Shadow Puppets?" Miles said, as more like a question. "You know it's three in the morning?" Suzie spoke quietly on the other end. "Well- I might have lost track of the time."   "Please, get some rest, Miles. I'm going to hangup now."   "Wait, Suzie! Please come to the show tomorrow, I need to see you." "Miles, we are broken up, please you are making this hard on both of us."  "Suzie, no, I know we 'ave. But- I miss you, dearly."  "Miles, go to bed. I will try to come to the show tomorrow."  "Fine, I love you, Suzie." Miles breathed into the phone, he waited for her reply for a few minutes before realizing she had hung up the phone already.  Miles stood up from his spot on the flimsy plastic chair, before he went over and opened the sliding glass door. Alex sat innocently on the bed, he had put his records in the floor by the window and was reading Nabokov's 'Lolita'. "Ey, Alex." Miles grinned, seeing the older boy sitting there. "Hi, Miles." He greeted absentmindedly. Miles started climbing onto Alex's bed, falling down next to his outstretched legs. He grabbed onto Al's right legs, clutching onto it for no reason in particular. Miles felt a tear slip from his bloodshot eyes, then another, then another. Before he was sobbing onto Alex's leg. Alex looked down at Miles, as he heard the younger boy start whimpering and crying. A look of pain and concern crossed Alex's face, "Miles, what's wrong?" Al asked, and as soon as the words left his mouth, Miles broke out into even harsher sobs.  He hiccuped in between, "All-ex, why doesn't an-yone love mee." Miles cried, Alex put his book aside, making sure the marker was in it.  He grabbed Miles' face in his hands looking into his once crystalline eyes, now clouded with his drunkenness. Within an Instant Miles had crashed his lips onto Alex's, looking for something there that he craved- love. Alex taken aback by Miles' actions, didn't kiss back, but he didn't pull away either. Miles started kissing Alex furiously, grabbing him by his hair roughly- not knowing what Alex was feeling. Al put his hands on Miles' shoulders trying to slow him down. Miles still had tears streaming down his face, as he brought his lips down to Alex's neck and began sucking on the sensitive skin he found there.
