Amelia's POV

After a quiet dinner, I went to my room and shut the door. All of this was happening at once, and to top it all off, I had a dad who wasn't around teenage girls often enough for him to know how to leave me alone and give me hugs at the same time. I sighed and stretched out on my bed. What was living here going to be like? How easily would the guys accept me here? Did they even want me?

My mother isn't really my mother, my uncle isn't really my uncle and my brothers weren't really my brothers. Why was all of this happening now? I should have always known that I was different. I only looked a little like my mom, she always said I was just like Eliot, and my attitude was different than the attitudes of my siblings. I sat up and went into the bathroom to look in the mirror. I did look like Eliot. I just looked more feminine. I laughed a little and pulled off my clothes so I could go to bed. I did have school tomorrow, after all. It was Thursday, meaning that tomorrow was Pep Rally day.

I got a text from Shawn.

Hey. Dress up day tomorrow. Nerd day. You gonna do it? We could match! ;)

~Shawn

Sure, I'll do it. I've got a pair of suspenders and some tape for my glasses lying around somewhere, lol.

~Amelia

Cool! What color are they?

~Shawn

Red. I have a couple Doctor Who cosplay outfits. One Doctor, one Amy. Wanna do that? My Amy cosplay might fit you!

~Amelia

Let's do it! I have a ginger wig already....

~Shawn

Lol, I was kidding!! You can be Doctor!

~Amelia

Please let me be Pond!! I wanna be Kiss-o-gram girl!

~Shawn

No. You're the Doc

~Amelia

Fine, killjoy. I'll see you tomorrow. Wait! Can we trade in the middle of the day? I'm on the team, so it'll give the guys a laugh!

~Shawn

Okay. Talk to you tomorrow when I bring your stume. Good night.

~Amy

Good night! <3

~Shawn

I hit the sleep button on my phone, dropped it into the chair in my room, and dug up my cosplay. As I was picking up my bowtie and setting it out, my door opened. I had a tweed jacket in one hand and a bow tie in the other with dress shoes under one arm and a fez under the other. Eliot gave me a questioning look.

"Nerd day at school tomorrow," I explained. "This if for a friend. We were going to match."

"Okay, then. Hey, I want to apologize. I know I wasn't exactly always there for you growing up."

"Don't apologize, Eliot. It's not your fault. It's my real mother's fault. She tossed me out and she knew you couldn't take me."

"It is my fault. I wasn't as careful as I should have been."

"Can we not turn this into the sex talk?"

"Sorry," he chuckled. "Most kids in this situation would shut people out after they found out that their whole life was a lie."
