lesson 5 Prayers

Praying is a form of silent wishing, for the energies around you to make diffrence on things you wish to happen. praying is also a form of acknowledging the help of deities or of highier beings. commonly prayers are compose of three parts
Praise,Thanking,Pennace.

Praising: typical start for a prayer for a certain God or Goddess is to Praise and worship them saying adjectives to best represent the deity that you are praying for. just like in the catholic prayer Our Father. the first verse goes

"Our Father Whou Art In heaven"

some popular names are also used in other prayers such as the Mighty striker for the god Zeus or Earth Shaker for Posiedon.

Thanking: most prayers have parts thanking their highier being of the gifts they recive. such as long life food or even things that happen to some one.

Pennance: lastly a prayer is not complete with out this step to either contemplate or to ask forgiveness on something before asking for some thing. we as individuals are raised to have the mind set that we need to ask forgivenes or Pennace before we can become worthy of rewards or gifts. thus the reason for this step.

and finaly we come why we prayed in the first place the want or the need on why we want to pray.

I hope that I was able to explin the reason why we need to pray. praying is one of the most powerful bond we can offer with our gods and Goddess. keep building a relationahip with your deity using prayers. also just like any other relationship after saying your prayer stay silent for 5 mins just to listen and belive me you will here a response.

lord and lady grant thee

the power of fire
for energy and courage
to change the things i can

the power of water
to accept what i cant

the power of air
for the abilty

grant me strength
to know and walk

Prayer to Hecate

Gracious Hecate
sacred fire
we call upon this dark hour
grant us power wisdom might
As we Do thy will this night
Wolf Bat Scorpion Snake
guard the circle that we make
bind our enemies make them weak
with spells of woe and curses bleak
mother of darkness inferal queen
unholy host of things unseen
release the dead from their constraints
to drink the blood of murderd saints
round about where cross roads meet
this sacred rite we swore to keep
where aconite and henbane grow
and torches in the darkness glow
mistress of magic
thy name we praise
as the moon enters her
blackest phase
from dusk till dawn we honor thee
so mote it bee.
