People say true love doesn't exist anymore. The kind of love your grandparents talked about. Men marching off to war and their women waiting with baited breath for them to return. The meeting the love of your life in the playground sandbox. That real, fluffy, romantic love. If it does happen, it's considered abnormal now. You mean you didn't meet on a dating site? You didn't meet because you were both cheating on your significant other? You didn't meet because you were friends with benefits what turned into more? Whattt?? Well that's how it felt these days. Worst part about it? You were one of the abnormal ones. You meet your love of your life when you were five, because he was the neighbor next door. Growing up next to the Evans' was so much fun! There were so many of them! You always wondered how it would be to have so many brothers and sisters. Although 4 kids seemed like peanuts compared next to those TV-shows following families with 19 or more kids. But as a kid it seems a lot. You were a little younger than Chris but he never seemed to be bothered by your age. Heck, he liked hanging out with you more than hanging out with his brother. You grew up together, learned riding bikes together, got in snow fights together and stood up for eachother at school. He was your best friend.

It wasn't until high school that he was more than that. Well at least for you. He was the first person you thought of in the morning and the last person you thought about before bed. He could always make you smile through your tears and make it feel like everything was going to be okay. He loved you, faults and all. And you felt the same about him. But you didn't just love him like a friend or sibling.... You wanted him to look at you like he did at the other girls at your school. You wanted him to ask you to the dance, not that girl from English class. Granted she dumped him and ended it up with you guys going together to keep eachother company. But why did you have to be his second choice? Why couldn't he see you for you? Why couldn't he see the girl standing next to him, even trough his awkward hair stages and the time he wore a puca shell necklace? When he made the decision to move to LA for his acting, it was devastating for you. Ofcourse you smiled and grinned, you were happy for him. You really only wanted his dreams to come through, even if yours couldn't because of them. You went with the family to send him off at the airport. You gave him a small wrapped gift. "For the plane ride." You smiled. He kissed the crook of your head and did the same to his brother and sisters before giving hugs all around and walking off. He was gone. You saw him coming home ofcourse, then he started bringing girls home with him. Jessica Biel? Minka Kelly? Seriously? After every gorgeous Hollywood actress came home for a visit with him, you'd stand in front of a mirror for a long time looking at yourself. Ofcourse when he came home and was single, not much had changed. It was like he'd never left. Until this visit.
