Bucky Barnes part 3

You are seeing and hearing everything. You are standing right next to them. You are a ghost now. You'll be Bucky's guardian angel. You try telling him it's okay but he doesn't hear you. You try to hug him but you go right through him. It's hard to see them all so weak and hurt. You just want to hug them, tell them you're right here. But you couldn't, they can't hear you and feel you.

~Time skip~

Bucky's pov;
How can this be happening? I punch the bag just a bit harder and faster with each punch. I should've saved her. One more punch and the bag is flying across the room. I let out a sigh and drop to the ground. I let out a scream and the tears return again. Steve comes rushing into the room and gives me a concerned look. "Are you okay Buck?" He asks with concern clear in his voice. "No." I answer blankly, staring at the wall in front of me. Steve gives me an understanding look before asking if I want to talk about it. I didn't want to talk so I told him no. I tried talking to people for way too long. It didn't do anything for me, it just made me think about her even more. Her funeral is tomorrow but I'm
Not ready at all. I'm not ready to say goodbye already. I love her so much. She deserved better than someone who can't even save her. I stand up and walk to my room. I go in and slam the door. I take a shower before I decide to take a bit of sleep. I lay down on my bed and fall fast asleep.

Rumlow. Rumlow is piercing (Y/N)'s chest with a knife before letting her go and running. She lets out a loud scream and falls to the ground.

"NO!!! (Y/N)!!" I scream as I wake up. I'm sweating and tears are falling down my face. Obvisiously the other Avengers had heard me. Steve was at my door in an instant. He comes inside and hugs me close. I cry in his arms while he comforts me. Suddenly I feel some calming, comforting feeling course through my body. I fully calm down. After that Steve gives me a sad smile/concerned look before walking out of my room.

~Time skip~

Today is the day. It's the day of (Y/N)'s funeral. I am not ready. I can't let her go already. It has been too short. "I'm sorry (Y/N)." I think out loud.

~A few hours later~

There she goes. Into the ground. Everybody is crying. Even Clint, Tony and Pietro. After the funeral I stay for a bit longer before laying a rose on her grave and leaving as well.

Your pov;
It's hard to see Bucky having all those memories and nightmares. You saw all of it. You also see how much it hurts Steve to see his friend broken again. When Bucky got that calming feeling, it was you touching his hand. It's the least you can do.

Everytime he has a nightmare you touch his hand. Bucky started wondering what it was but never bothered to ask Tony to find out. Until this time. You had talked to him. "I'm save now Bucky." is what you said. Because you were touching his hand, you two were connected and he had heard you. Bucky raced off to the lab to ask Tony to run a test across the tower to find out about any activity. You follow Bucky into the lab and accidentally knock over some liquid. Tony shrieks and checks the security cameras. He and Bucky carefully watch the tape and suddenly they see some womanly creature. Tony zooms in. "Wait... Is that (Y/N)?" Bucky asks. "Yes. Yes it is. But that means.... That means she's a ghost right now." Bucky looks at Tony with shock in his eyes. "Quick watch the security footage!" Tony turns on the footage and Bucky watches the screen closely. There you stand. You wave at the camera. Bucky smiles. "I love you (Y/N)." Bucky says. You walk over to them and touch their hands. "I love you too Bucky. And I will always stay with you and protect you. So will I protect all the Avengers. Keep up the good work at leading the team together with cap Tony. Tell the rest I love them." You say before breaking away from their hands. Bucky smiles and blows a kiss in the air. "Thanks (Y/N)." They both say, before leaving the room to tell the news to the rest of the Avengers. And you never broke your promise. You stayed with them 'til the end of the line.
